Variants:  many of us know about them, and many of us love them.  Some are extremely rare, while others are just odd.  Matt B. AKA mb7241 has graciously passed the torch to me in keeping track of who has what.

With that said, I aim to keep the ball rolling.  Some of these have had a couple of new carts discovered recently.  Others have only had one or two discovered, while some have yet to be found.  If you have a rare variant, whether it's a 5-screw or 3-screw cart, a hangtab or non-hangtab box, upside-down label, etc., post it here, along with its state of completeness (loose cart, cart + box, CIB, etc.).  I plan on adding the rare Color Dreams variants to this list also, but until I do, here is the list for those:

i have a donkey kong 3 w/ 5 screws...is that rare?

DK3 is pretty common in both 5- and 3-screw variants.  I believe the 3-screw version is the rarer one, but not by a whole lot.

^ DK 3 with 3 screws and the oval seal would be the rarest US-released variant.  Even so, it's not really all that hard to find (though it would be a bit above average for rarity).

I've owned two at different times, both of which I found in the wild.  Gets a bit of a premium and is definitely rarer than the regular blue and black carts, but I wouldn't call it more than an R5 or 6.

EDIT: And even that might be a stretch.

Correct. Captain comic is pretty well the most common of all CD/BG games, in ANY variant form.

I have a new addition for the list: 5-screw Skate or Die! I was down around Cincinnati this weekend, and one store had 2 of them! These are the same kind of Ultra error carts that we've seen - missing a back label, 5 security screws.

I also found a 5-screw Gotcha! That makes two of those.
