Everyone looked at one another confused. The air was thick, but smooth as silk. This mysterious land was calming and open, yet also had a terrible sense to it. A sense indescribable with words, one that made you feel like you always had to have an extra eye looking over your shoulder. Everyone was a blank face, a nobody – all face and vocal recognition had seemingly been wiped. Everyone was a completely anonymous stranger. Yet at least one could tell who he was inside. No memory wipes at least. Everyone could remember everything: who they were and who was friend or foe. They just couldn’t put a face or voice to the name, and that was quite possibly the most terrifying part. Three players specifically noticed a glowing golden triangle on their left hand, and a newfound power coursing through their veins.
“What now?” asked one person. “I…don’t know…” said another. Everyone stared at each other awkwardly. The sun was high above them, yet no heat was felt. The air wisped around them yet no chill came to the skin. No one was ever hungry or thirsty. The sudden realization came to many of them, slowly one by one. They were stuck in the one true prison, the eternal cell, the timeless solitude. It went by many names; Purgatory, Limbo. Everyone’s blood drew instantly cold. This could very well be their final resting place.
“Well, one way or another, we know why we’re all here” said a man who had not yet spoken, “we have our sides, and our goals, so we might as well get on with it.” Everyone looked at each other yet again, the paranoia escalating exponentially.
“Let the best side win…”
