Hahahaha. My first score is on page 3 and yes, it was brutal. I am very happy with how I played this week and after getting 2nd last year in the summer tournament to a last minute score hurt lol. So I was going to do everything I could to try to make it to the finals again and one up myself. Almost burned myself out on this one.

40,460 Game Clear! (Tier 3)

finally cleared the game! was really starting to get worried there... until this week i hadnt played this game in probably about 15 years. re-purchased the cart earlier this week just to have a legit copy for the finals. i played soooo many runs this week. and lost many to the blocks. the fall/winter contest was my first time to participate on a regular basis, my goal was just to make it to the tournament at all, super stoked to have made it into the finals. been great playing with y'all!

Had a few great potential sub 40k runs derailed by Willy. My very last run I died on Willy twice because my dude absolutely refused to hair pull him. Complete garbage.... Last place here I come.

Tier 1: Score: 37,160 (Game Completed)

This is no Tom score but it is as good as it is going to get for me. Finally got a good strategy against Willie, I had too many great runs get completely ruined by him so it was nice to finally figure that guy out, as well as that damn brick wall at the beginning of stage 4. Great scores everyone and it's been an amazing season to compete with you all!

^My last failed run would have probably been around 33-34k,so seeing that score makes me even more pissed about my last failed run.

Tier 1 - Willy - 52,550



I don't fare at all well with beat 'em ups so I figured I was finishing last this round. I only got to start playing it yesterday though so I think if this comes up in the contests again that I might be able to beat it with more practice on the last mission. I had a blast playing it anyway.

It looks like I would've finished second if I had actually made the finals so you Tier 1 guys got lucky! Seriously though, great scores everybody and congratulations to the winners!

No problem man! I figured you would post a better score than me honestly. I forgot this ended at 11 EST instead of 10,so I sort of just said screw it until I realized. Tried one more run.I just died at Willy with 31,810. I probably would have beaten it had it not been for a couple of extremely cheap deaths I just happened to get on this run. Oh well. Congrats to everyone who won and participated.

I realized early on that i'd have to be able to beat the game to be in the top 3 and i've never been able to beat Double Dragon.  Definately better at it than I was a week ago, but that's not saying much.

Lol. You had a great run there! I was right on the doorstep of it. Not sure if I would have beaten or not. I should've just kept playing last night. I was on a roll. I think I beat it 5 or 6 consecutive times. Today has been really hit and miss. Of course I was also trying out some different strategies to get the score down. Oh,and I have to apologize for the wall advice I gave you. While it WAS what I was doing early on,I found a better way and I should have posted that so I am sorry about that!

Haha not a problem with the wall advice, i got a little more consistent with it and figured out another way as well. I think the biggest thing that helped was not tyring to jump through it. Still has to be one of the cheapest things in my opinion

I got to the guys rt after the blocks and died there.

Never used photobucket, but never had a problem before. I blame my new phone, anyways I am sure everyone in my tier beat me but it still makes me mad. Come on random drawing I need a new game to play.

Wow, not going to lie MegaMartyr, you had me pretty worried lol I thought you were going to come in last minute and steal the victory from me lol Congrats and great job to everyone!!! Love seeing more people playing the contests and being able to get further in games than they normally would or beat them.

Another 3rd place finish. Was hoping to get 2nd at least. If only we had played Mega Man. Curious as to who will win what carts. Hopefully it's something I don't have. If I do win a cart I have,I'm more than willing to trade it for a cart I don't have.

Would've love to have done that but it would've taken a miracle for me to take this one.  I've never been very good at Double Dragon.  At least now when I die it's mostly from the cheap deaths like the bricks or repeated stalactites.  Sometimes they just won't let you up!
