Gonna try this game again today... after trying yesterday, I was pretty annoyed. Took some time to figure out the River PoleVault, because of the manual being misleading...and I hate the timing on the Pogo As well.

Actually, it seems like the more I play this game, the more I hate it

I... huh... kind of gotten a low 18K score, somehow.
I blame booze and Guil for pushing me to get a flashcart for my clone.

What's the highest score possible? I think that it's somewhere in the 18k range. 1000 points is about the most you can get per event.

I believe it is 20K points.
You get some bonus points for beating all the games.
If I am bored enough this week, I will validate that.

It should be in the 18-20k range.
This is just what I've got.
sack race-1080
boot toss-1000
overboard-1000
pogo-1000
pile of pizza-1000
river jump-1000
Im not sure if there are higher scores possible, but I'm thinking top 8 is gonna be whoever is the fastest at overboard. That's the only game I'm inconsistent at myself !

I know that the last time this was played, the highest score was 18,410 or something like that.

I'm probably done with this game. But is anyone else playing on emulator? And if so, can you do the river jump? I want to know if emulator lag makes this event impossible.

I am playing on the everdrive, but there is a sweet spot for doing the jump.
If you push B too early, you won't make it. Wait till you are closer to the water.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I doubt that I'll get a huge score anyway, but I'd like to be able to complete this event.

EDIT:

I can get the pole into the water, but I can't vault to the other side.

It seems ridiculously precise when you have to let go of the B button.

Most I got on sack race was 1130.
I am not sure if it is possible to score 1200 on it, but I saw a TAS run that score 1160 in it.
All the other events seem to cap at 1000 points.

I'm sure that the river jump requires frame perfect timing. It looks like there are three frames of animation after you land the pole into the water, and you probably have to let go of B on the exact frame. Lag is probably screwing me on this.

Okay, so the sack race starts at 2000 points and 50 seconds. You lose 5 points per tenth of a second, from what I saw.
If you beat it at 30 seconds exact, using 20 seconds, you will get 1200 points.
Each time you are knocked down, either by the manholes or by your opponent, you lose 40 points. I wonder if you gain 40 points by knocking him down.

Edit: No, you do not.
So, the win this week will be defined by sack race and overboard. I am not sure that it is possible to beat sack race under 20 seconds of time used, though, so the max score will be around 18,600.
I highly doubt I can improve mine.

Edit 2:
I will dig into the source code tomorrow to see if there are any hidden bonuses.

Yes. But you must not get hit by the other guy.
If he pushes you, you lose 20 or 40 points. I haven't mapped the exactly value for that one yet.

My strat for overboard is just holding right and mashing the button. That usually works.

I'm curious to know where and when? The contest schedule says this is the first time this game has been played in the weekly contests. The only other time I see it referenced was in an old tournament thread. The tournament I'm referencing is the one where Tom Votava beat some poor bastard to death with his own arm scored over 17,000 points in Snoopy for the win.

Dev(2) got 18,140 here. I mistyped a number.
Tom's was on the 1st week and was 17,940.

Edit: From this morning observations, diagonal jumps at the sack event seem to carry extra x axis momentum. I will figure how much more and how it is affected by the button input tonight and post my findings here.
If this is the case and you can manipulate it, beating the sack event in less than 20 seconds will be possible.

Colorado crew has discovered a glitch in Pile of Pizzas. After the event has been beaten once, you can let time run out on all subsequent runs and you will be awarded with same score as the first attempt.

Interesting. There might be more glitches like this in the game.
The coding looks very shoddy and poor for the most part.

It doesn't seem to work with any of the other timed events. I assume it's because Pile of Pizzas is contingent on time and number of Pizzas but I don't know. I wouldn't doubt the existence of other glitches throughout the game, though.

I never managed to. Might not be possible at all.
But I will dig into the code tonight, cold be dammed, for us to know that.
I am also trying to determine what is the lowest time possible for the sack race.
