Died on 7-4 after getting lost on my best run of the week. 

This run felt good until I ran out of time.
Funny part is I have 8-4 memorized no problem.

For maximum points though I can't just warp to 8-4 this week though.
I think 700k might end up being the cut off this week.

Just made my last update for this week.

I've beaten Super Mario Bros. warping to the end in a few minutes without dying before, but in 30 years I've never gone through every stage without dying - until tonight.

Turtle hopping is not something I can do, so in my mind this is as high as I'll ever get and I'm satisfied with that.

Will probably post a better score soon. I did a run of this game not too long ago and almost no-deathed it, so I'm already rather good at this. Almost beat the game this time, too. I wasn't very happy about this lol

Have been checking this thread out over the past few days, and really looks like fun. First time participating, so will probably just be going for lots of noob participation spots. I haven't played SMB in probably two years, so I thought this run was decent. Looking forward to future contests!

Starting to get the feel for it. And I fear it will have an irreversible affect on my SMB III gameplay

It's a good thing that my score doesn't count or I'd probably be playing all weekend trying to get that top spot.

Yeah I get burned out some times took me a little break I'm back for some more

We have bye weeks built into the schedule this year to help reduce the burnout issue. Hopefully they will provide enough of a break so that players can stay locked in for the entire season.

I didn't get to play like I thought I would last night. I'll get something posted before the end of the week but don't expect anything earth shattering from me.

The funny thing is I almost always play along when I have the cart, but I never record my scores lol. I'm going to start making it a habit, because that's what this place is all about!

I started playing SMB a few days back and "got in shape" enough to start getting over 100,000 without a death. I hardly play the game anymore (SMB3 is the go-to), so it's fun popping it in. I'm thinking about playing all three titles in order to get a feel for what it was like when only those games were out.

That's where I stand, man. I post scores when I own the game they're playing for the contest, but I'm usually middle of the table in these contests, and nowhere close to the top. It's all in good fun, though, and it keeps me from getting rusty. Hopefully we'll be competing against each other more in upcoming contests.

I've always wondered what percentage of gamers I'm better than by scoring "middle of the table" on an NA contest.
