Closed SNES Monthly Contest: January - Turtles in Time + Super Mario Kart Winners - link463 & pegboy

Going forward the competition will have two games running at a time.  They are separate leaderboards, with their own points awarded.  You can compete in one or the other, or both.

This appears to trip people up so I'm posting it again:  If you post an updated score please re-use your original post, or create a new one and remove your old score.  That will make my life easier sorting things out.

January Game #1: Turtles in Time
Rules
  • Goal -> Progress
  • Tiebreaker -> Deaths (for complete runs), then high score
  • Bonus Point -> no-death the game
  • Play on Normal difficulty
  • Start a new 1-player game with the character of your choice
  • You are allowed 2 lives
  • Upon losing your second life you must immediately pause the game and take your pic
January Game #2: Super Mario Kart
Rules

  • Goal -> Fastest combined time from 4 tracks
  • Bonus Point -> Time under 5'00"
  • Select Time Trial.  You will need to submit times for the following tracks
  • Bowser Castle 1
  • Ghost Valley 2
  • Vanilla Lake 1
  • Koopa Beach 2
  • You will need to submit 4 different pictures, each from race's end.  Do not submit scores from the track selection screen.  Please also put all 4 pics in the same post.
  • Your final time will be the cumulative results of the 4 tracks.  Anyone who cannot submit times for all 4 tracks can still earn participation credit for partial submissions
  • If it helps you keep track of your best scores easier, your save data can be erased by starting up the game and then pressing L + R + A + X + Y.  This will re-lock the Special Cup
  • Unlocking the Special Cup is done by placing 1st in the first three cups on 50CC and 100CC
  • The Special Cup can also be unlocked by the following method:  Go to Time Trial or 2P Match Race, put the cursor on Mushroom Cup and press: L,R,L,R,L,L,R,R,A. You will need to input this each time you turn the system on, but your times will keep

TMNT IV - Stage 9 (1 screen frame from boss)
died so stupidly. Got shocked twice ....facepalm. Easily beat the rest on the next life.

couldnt make out lives left (6) in the second pic. thats why there is two.

What difficulty do we play on for Turtles in Time?

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

-Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

Shouldn't be. I made a conscious decision to do an easier lineup this time with there being 2 games now, plus the distraction of the "Beat Every" threads

nah its anyone who wants to play. People only saving a spot on the first page for their scores so its easier to find and update. I started doing it after the Street Fighter II competition. Updated my score several times and there were a lot of pages to go through to find my score update post.
