why are so many people bagging this guy?

"im the one whos got to die, when its time for me to die. so let me live my life the way i want to."

as far as i can understand he only put his own life at risk.

"he punched the crok"

not many people can say they punched a crok to escape.

also "he is expected to make a FULL recovery".

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Brutal.

What if it was sandwiched between a couple pieces of cardboard? Would that be acceptable?

I think this guy's actions fit in well with Australian culture. Was it dumb to jump in water despite the warning sign? Sure. But all teens tend to make 1 or 2 stupid mistakes.
Aussies are brave and think they can wrestle crocs, right? Well, turns out this guy can (even though the saltie he had a run-in with was luckily small enough for him to handle).
I'm sure he's not the only young Aussie to have jumped in the water here and lived to tell the tale. The iPhone guy and even the other croc guy was way stupider.

Depends on the price of the game, I guess.

I can understand why somebody would use a $0.20 bubble mailer and a couple of pieces of cardboard versus a $2 dedicated CD/DVD mailer, depending on how much the item is selling for.

I doubt that is any more prevalent than Americans that think they can wrestle a grizzly bear or beat up a shark.

Interesting, apparently bathroom power outlets are illegal in Britain rather than requiring GFCI outlets like the US. It seems like that would lead to situations like this more often than if they just allowed GFCI outlets.

They're a little ambiguous about how they describe it, but they MUST mean than the actual wall-wart plug (and the end of the extension cord) fell into the tub, right?

Because the phone-end of that plug is only carrying 5V DC at maybe 1A, max.
(which I'd be surprised could do the kind of damage they are referring to -- I mean, it might be able to stop your heart if you're really unlucky, but probably not cause burns, etc)

Here's an update on the moron

https://www.yahoo.com/news/croc-h...

"In a bid to woo Sophie Paterson, Lee de Paauw jumped into Johnstone River at Innisfail in Queensland...De Paauw, 18, was lucky to escape with only two broken bones and stitches...He said the stunt was to impress "that beautiful backpacker"..."I would have to be quite twisted to be impressed by that," she said...Paterson said she would visit de Paauw if work demands allowed, but she added that there were no plans for the two to date, telling reporters he was "too young for me"."

"Too young"? How about so stupid he makes a dinosaur look like Einstein next to him! In other news, how many people think this will in some way shape or form enter "reality" TV? :/

Man Burns Down Parents Home, Kills Three Pets While Trying To Exterminate Ants: Officials

https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-bu...

"21-year-old Devon Doucette was trying to incinerate the ants with wooden matches when he inadvertently ignited combustible material...two cats and a dog were killed in the fire... The fundraiser was created Sunday with a goal of $10,000. By Monday, that amount had been surpassed."

SIGH. No amount of money can fix the underlying problem here.
