Ah, so you found the secret room, eh? Bask in the glory of a Mario Trilogy, a Pair of Zeldas and a Sextet of Megamans. Yes this is the little grey box that could and continues to do. What lies ahead is entirely up to you. YOU DECIDE

Finally had a day that was good for yard saling in Baltimore! I had a few good finds but didn't run into any competition, which was great. I think my main competitor in the city may have moved, though I haven't been able to confirm it for sure yet.

These all came from different houses at various community sales. DVD's plus Sonic were $6, the PS4 games were $5 apiece, and Lumines and Morrowind were $2 apiece. It's my first time seeing non-sports PS4 games in the wild.

This lot was sitting in a box marked $10 right along the side walk, which if nothing else was a good sign no other game buyers were around. It's nice to add Mario Super Sluggers to my collection.

And the last find comes courtesy of a friend who posted about a sale and sent me a pic when I asked about video games. Everything here was $25, and I can't even feel bad because they were just cleaning out an ex's old stuff and wanted to be rid of it.

This was more up around Philly, but I got a good deal on a nice little NES lot through a local-pickup-only auction. Everything in the pics below was about $80.

I had an alright time yard saling this past Saturday, but for the amount of places I went to I was hoping for a little more. The GCN games plus Munchkin were $10, the Wii games were $4, Civ 2 was free, and Def Jam+Rambo+The Noid manual+the Sega stuff were $5. Turns out the little black box in the upper left is a battery pack for a Sega Nomad, so I now have a complete system. Huzzah!

Not pictured: a box full of wrestling DVDs for $5 that I picked up for a friend.

Sunday was a pretty good day for flea markets! I was tempted into going to a semi-annual mega flea market by a craigslist post mentioning games, but that turned out to be mostly dealers. However, upon realizing the dealers were preoccupied I decided to check out the regular flea markets south of the city now that the competition was occupied. Between two markets down there I scored everything in the pic for $36.

Nice haul there. Puzzle Quest is a pretty fun game if you're in to that kind of thing.

Found a nice little lot of Gameboy stuff just down the street from me for only $23! It's nice to find something without having to drive around for 2 hours...

Nice finds! Although the Gameboy system itself seems to be in pretty bad condition, missing the entire grey border around the screen. The speaker looks pretty dirty too, so I would recommend cleaning this one.

Yeah, I know. It turned on and worked perfectly when I tried it out, so I figured it was worth fixing up. Here's a picture of it after some work I put into it last weekend: new faceplate, wipe down, and cleaning the battery contacts. I have a friend who's been ogling a Game Boy in a nearby store for a while, so this should make a nice present for her.

Not the most amazing deal, but I grabbed these for $30 at a yard sale this past weekend. The sale advertised games, and when I got there it turned out to the some collectors getting rid of some stuff they didn't want anymore, but the prices were competitive (e.g. $90 for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance). I cherry-picked these based off of price and games I didn't have yet.

Had another decent Saturday morning at yard sales! I picked up an XBox 360 at a sale with a couple of controllers for $20, and it turned out to be a fancy R2D2 one! (I thought it was just a decal at first). I picked up Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked with it and then at the next sale I grabbed a nice stack of Genesis games for $15. Later, while I was walking around my neighborhood, I spotted some bins marked 'free' out by the corner. I grabbed the XBox and PS3 stuff along with Kiki's Delivery Service, but it was all pretty waterlogged. I cleaned up what I could, but it was petty gross. Still, the price was right and I managed to save Jade Empire, which is what I wanted the most anyway!

Haven't had a lot of time to go out lately, but I did put in some bids on some gaming stuff in a local pickup-only auction. I figured at least one gaming lot would pan out, so I also put in some super low-ball bids on some other stuff, since I figured what the heck. Well, I didn't get any of the gaming lots but the low-ball bids paid off. I got a bunch of kids books for the kiddo and this consolation prize on the video game front. Still works, and is apparently hard to find!

Was cooped up sick all of last week, but by Saturday morning I was feeling well enough to get out so I hit a couple of yard sales. Got everything in the pic below for $40, which was a nice little morale boost.

Had a decent little find for $10 right across the street from my house last Saturday. Regrettably I missed a multi-family sale on the next street over that wasn't marked on Craiglist; I tend to do pretty well at those.

Had a little luck this weekend, but also an astonishing disappointment. On Saturday I went to a neighborhood sale where a person was bringing games, but they were late and I had to drop my wife and son off at an event so I regretfully left after grabbing the Bob Ross board game from someone else for $2. After dropping off the wife and the kiddo I went to a nearby community sale, and the first house I went to had a huge box of Gamecube stuff! It was $5 per game, but I figured it'll be worth it for the first party stuff.

There. Was. Not. A Single. Damn. First Party Game. In the Box.

I've never seen that happen before. There wasn't much in there worth anything to me, but I did grab LotR: The Third Age, Star Wars Bounty Hunter with the variant art, and a dinged up Wavebird for $10. After that i cruised around the neighborhood and found some cassettes for friends at a nearby sale before having to return to pick up the family. I then hit that first sale on the way back and picked up a Capcom game I'd never heard of for $5. Not great, but I didn't want to feel like I wasted the trip.

On Sunday a friend of mine let me know her block was having a sale, and she agreed to hold on to her son's video game stuff until I could get there. I got the PS3 games, the Vita, and the DS's in the pic for $80, which I think is a price that left neither of us feeling ripped off. I swung by again later when they were wrapping up and she just gave me a bunch of DVDs to get rid of them, so that was a nice little bonus.

All in all a decent weekend for game hunting.

Nice find on starwars. Thats better than most first party games on that system.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm a big fan of Bounty Hunter. Shame that it never got a sequel.

Updated the links on the old pictures, so every post is worthwhile again. Would anyone be interested in seeing some of my finds from years past? I've had some pretty amazing ones that people have called BS on me for, but they're 100% legit.

So here's a flashback find: probably the first really big lot I found. This was from a flea market back in December 2013. I got this entire lot of Genesis games for $100, a decent deal at the time and an amazing one by 2018 standards. This kicked off my Genesis collection, and it had a bunch of favorites that I always had to play at a friend's house as a kid.

Yard sale in Baltimore is pretty much over, but I still like to keep an eye on Facebook for deals. Grabbed these yesterday for $20 yesterday!
