If you could only choose one condition, which one of these would you prefer?

1. A mint box but the insides are poor
2. An average box with average insides
3. A poor box but the insides are mint

Yeah, box over everything. Carts are easy to find in nice shape and manual is pretty much out of sight out of mind for me. A nice one is a bonus but I'm never going to upgrade it unless it's torn up or damaged.

2. I'm not going for stuff in perfect condition. Im fine with average condition boxes and innards if I can save some money in the process. I've traded really good condition items for a downgrade f the same item(s) plus cash or extra items. As long as it's not in terrible condition, I'm good with it

Depends. If that mint box has just cart and manual in average shape, then I'd prefer the average box complete with 100% mint insides including reg cards, posters, etc. 100% complete mint insides are just as hard to replace as box, especially on games with specific posters or inserts.

Option 3, because I collect cart & manual only and in VG+ condition. I would just try and sell/trade the poor condition boxes. Plus sometimes mint inserts/maps/posters have some value which I I would also sell.

Boxes are for display. Games are for playing.

A shitty looking box isn't worth displaying. A shitty looking game can still be played.

A mint manual can be just as hard to find as a mint box IMO. I agree that finding a mint game is the easiest.

A shitty box can be updated to fit the mint cart/manual
Average bix + average inside = resell everything.

I hadn't thought of it that way, and now that I see your point I grant that it has its wisdom.
