Hi Folks!
Here it is, the
Targa sales thread! Matt and I have been releasing protos for many years, but this is hands down the #1 best release we've ever done. It also marks our first foray into SNES stuff!
- This is
NOT a presale thread. All 150 copies are 100% finished and ready to ship!
- The game is made of
COMPLETELY NEW PARTS! No carts were harmed in the making of this game:
- The game uses
BRAND NEW PCBs! The first and only game that has ever appeared on these boards is Targa.
- The game uses
BRAND NEW CART SHELLS! These are PAL style shells that are very high quality.
- The game uses
BRAND NEW BITBOX CASES! After using these on Yeager, we fell in love. The highest quality cases around in my opinion.
- The game uses professional printed and cut vinyl stickers. Very, very happy about the quality fo stickers for this release, they're absolutely fantastic in my opinion.
- Professionally printed BitBox inserts! The highest quality that StoneAgeGamer offers.
- Professionally printed 8 1/2" x 11" double sided posters. Fsped outdid himself with these ones
Each release has a hand numbered poster inside. No LE numbers appear elsewhere as we feel that they can often detract from the art.
There were some quality control issues with our last release (Bill's Tomato Game) that Matt and I were unhappy about. The game cases used fit perfectly in an SNES (both US and Euro) and are high quality. They use screws rather than snap together. The BitBoxes are of much higher quality than universal game cases and display better as well. The inserts are now printed professionally and to the highest standards that StoneAgeGamer provides, so there are no inconsistencies in the prints. The posters were printed through fsped, so you know the quality you are getting.
- The game will cost
$85 shipped in the US, $95 Shipped to Canada, and $100 Worldwide. Using all new parts was MUCH more expensive than using donors, so sorry about the cost. The international prices stink due to the higher cost of flate rate postage seen here :

I know it sucks, but it is what it is.

- Once a transaction request has been made, you will have 3 days to send payment over. Any longer than this, and I will leave appropriate feedback and your number goes back up for grabs. Sorry, but I've done 3 full reproduction runs in the past with far too many tire kickers.

What you should know about this game:
Manfred Trenz is an absolute legend in the gaming community. From his controversial work with the Great Giana Sisters, to his timeless classics like R-Type and the Turrican series, Manfred has a long and storied history of creating both amazing Run n Gun and horizontal Shumps for consoles. Targa was to be released in North America in 1995, but late in the game Manfred was forced to change some of his art and release the game as Rendering Ranger exclusively in Japan. The game is a fantastic mash up that includes both genres that made Manfred famous: Run n Gun AND horizontal shooter. Seeing only a limited release in Japan and never coming over to the states, Targa is finally getting the release it deserved almost 20 years ago
Highs:
The game is hands down one of the best games I have ever played on the SNES. Both the Run n Gun and Shooter levels are beautiful, exciting, and challenging! The game is true Manfred Trenz at his best and is by far and away our most enjoyable release to date. The game is 100% finished and playable to the end with 9 levels of gaming.
Lows:
Honestly, not a hell of a lot. The posters have some wear on the fold lines, but other than that this release is about as perfect as it could get.
After a full sell out, Matt and I will be releasing the
ORIGINAL UNALTERED ROM for FREE for everyone to download and enjoy!
Shoutouts:
Azathoth: Travis is the sole reason you all can play this game after 20 years. No Travis means no Targa. He is an absolutely fantastic individually who worked endlessly with both Matt and myself to get this done and I can't say enough about him!
Dain: Thank you so much for creating this amazing site. Without you and this site, there are many, many protos that NEVER would have gotten released. You're an amazing guy and a great friend!
Lincoln: Hit a road block with our manufacturer at one point. Lincoln worked magic on the ROM and is a big reason why you all can play this game!
fsped: The best artist in the biz! The case, label, poster; all possible because of this dude. Thanks so much for all of your help!
I think that's pretty much it. If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please let me know!
