No one work on Secret of Mana, I wanna do it! I'll get started this week.

I'll also get cracking on some Super Scope games. That will be my focus this year for the thread.

I'll consider it.  I'd have to adjust a bunch of things.

FWIW I treated outlier games like those (assuming they were licensed) as bonuses, essentially, for the Sega-16 effort. No effect on the standings, but completions still added to the main post.

Terrible photo but Sid Meier's Civilization is done through sheer destruction of everyone else.

Two more easy Koei games I've never played to finish next - Aerobiz and Uncharted Waters 2

Yū Yū Hakusho: Tokubetsu Hen and Yū Yū Hakusho Final: Makai Saikyō Retsuden should be on that list as well.
You don't need to know a single word in Japanese to beat them.
In fact, I will get into it before I continue doing matches on Super Bases Loaded 3.

So there are 4 Yu Yu Hakusho games?

I know the first two are fighting games, and I assume final is a deluxe version of 2.  What is the 4th game?

Two of them are "cinematic" games.
YuYu Hakusho and YU YU Hakusho Tokubehuten. In them, the screen is split in two and there is a bunch of actions you can do with charging the buttons that will lead to cinematic animation of your attack.
Both use a rock-paper-scissors scheme where a certain button beats another button.
YuYu Hakusho 2 and YuYu Hakusho Final are the fighting games.

Just remembered Steve's list of SFC games. Gonna tap that now

I think I'll be aiming for 250-300 SFC games.  I have 235 identified right now.

Ok, first attempt at a master SFC list is up. 250 games, I'm moderately confident that they are all very beatable/translated, and that I don't have any major omissions. I'll debate trying to add 50 more, but it would probably be lots of fighting games or Z tier RPGs.  If you know more candidates, let me know.

Yū Yū Hakusho Final: Makai Saikyō Retsuden is done.
I played this so, but so much when I was 16 to 17 years old. Good times.

Smash Tennis is a localization of Super Family Tennis, so I don't know that we need both of them -- either one could count. Super Family Tennis has a hidden "drama mode" that's not in Smash Tennis AFAIK, but of course Smash Tennis is in English.

Could we throw in Aim for the Ace (Ace wo Nerae) instead? It uses an enhancement chip (sigh) but has a translation patch. Or, if you want, you can throw in all the SFC tennis games since I might try to clear the SFC tennis library this year, except Super Final Match Tennis since I beat that last year. The other two are Date Kimiko no Virtual Tennis and Final Set Tennis.

BTW I beat Villgust last year -- if only I'd waited!

Any SFC game that someone beats, on the list or off, will be included

YuYu Hakusho 2 is done.
I will do the two cinematic ones and a few more games on Super Bases Loaded 3 after I save Princess Prin Prin for the NES thread.

Yu Yu Hakusho 1 story mode surely drags around, but it is going well. Will be done with it before tonight ends.
Yu Yu Hakusho Tokubehuten should go a bit faster, at least.

Daniel enters the leaderboard

I'm working on Spike McFang and Secret of Evermore simultaneously. But I also need to focus on some other titles for my writing project so my progress may be uneven.

Yu Yu Hakusho 1 is done, over two hours after I started Story mode.
Starting Yuu Yuu Hakusho Tokubetuhen hen now. Should take another good hour and a half.

Super Bomberman 2 down. I don't remember Plasma Bomber's area being such horse shit, but then again, it's probably been 18 years since I last beat it.

With an ending screen like that, it could be almost anything. I missed the little cutscene with Bomberman falling to his friends by about two seconds.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho Tokubetuhen hen is done as well on "survival/sudden death" mode where you fight all the opponents.

I beat an unlisted Super Famicom game, Battle Pinball. It seems to loop forever, but I beat all 5 bosses and got the High Score.

Awesome, had never even heard of that one

I'll try to do more research tomorrow and expand the list
