I went with the North American look, but wish I would've went black or clear.

No SFC/PAL SNES love? *shrug* It looked like the clear winner to me. I like the NA SNES colors but they just look out of place on this unit's design. If they only had one design I would hope for a blend of those colors with the SFC/PAL colors.

Really need to see the finished product for final determination but I went with the clear one. Love clear stuff.

That super famicom version looks nice (so nice in fact, I pre-ordered one). I love see-through designs, but there doesn't seem to be too much 'under the hood' to show off. I haven't used 8bitdo's but they do look like very nice controllers. I wonder why someone hasn't made a 2.4ghz wireless SNES pad yet.

Is their a noticeable latency difference between bluetooth and the wireless tech used in the AVS controller?

Oh and I hope there's no issues with SD2SNES support as the Everdrive N8 had with Analogue's NT (?and NT Mini?). That would make me re-think wanting this thing.

Bluetooth is 2.4GHz. In fact, most proprietary 2.4GHz wireless devices these days use a BT chip with a proprietary wireless mode from the engineers that made the BT chip. Sometimes it's to avoid the complexities of the standard, sometimes it's to get similar functionality without paying the Bluetooth SIG.

I actually thought the AVS wireless controller included an 8bitdo RetroReceiver (Bluetooth). Guess it was just similarly-styled.

it has an sd slot so you don't need to use an SD2SNES. Also apparently supports the mappers which the SD2SNES does not

Holy f-bomb crap yes I did the same! I was mulling over the hasty decision and you convinced me it was the right choice. Still though I hope it's true snes gray and not wii white like the preview render suggests. I think the SF color scheme with the grey accents would have been perfect if they changed the buttons to na purple...........

Same, the NA Classic scheme. Thought about the all black, but that's more Sega Genesis than Super Nintendo. Now I need to pick up a few good SNES controllers to add to my backups

Glad I'm not alone lol! btw Drunk high on old neglish 800 and unisom....

Yup. If only the NA scheme has the squarish vintage cadillac look like the na snes!

Absolutely not! I'll let someone more sober than I elaborate, but the AVS receivee is pure RF, instant on, no pairing, no bt.

It's just not clear what "100% compatibility means". I read it as it's 100% compatible with all 2000+ SNES/SFC games...if played off the original cart.

No mention how cartridge expansion chips are handeled (or whether they're required) if you were to, let's say, try to play Starfox 2 from an sd card. I know Kevtris knows his shit and I wouldn't be surprised if he's got all the cartridge expansion chips programmed into the Super NT's FPGA.

Will be intersting to see if this thing can indeed handle all the expansion chips. That would certainly make the SD2SNES somewhat unnecessary for this particular console unless you want to play a game with MSU-1 audio.

That's what I forgot to mention in my post earlier. 2.4ghz RF. It's super fast and responsive. Love it. The same tech used in those 'clickers' for live audience response/polling systems.

Doesn't VeriSNES support MSU-1? I know I saw the Bad Apple demo running on it. I doubt Kevtris would let it slide if Jonathan managed it in a VeriSNES.

Don't scare me! I'm convinced from the pic that it will indeed be a nice gray and not Moby Dick color! Considering how much time and effort they put into the NES Analogue, I'm convinced they are going to do right!

By the way, I'm curious, Nintendo has to know about this. What are they mulling? "Oh gee, maybe we should have done this?!" or do they simply not care and are working on the N64 Classic?

Why would Nintendo make one? They make their money licensing software and selling the Switch/Classics. They gain virtually nothing from making a cartridge console that plays second hand games sold 20+ years ago.

Proprietary RF.

RF alone doesn't distinguish it. In this context it basically means "not wired," "not sonic," and "not IR." Bluetooth is also RF. Wifi is RF. DECT6.0 is RF. Wavebird is RF. If it uses radio waves over the air instead of light (like an IR TV remote) or sound (The Clapper), it's RF wireless.

Do they take payment immediately or when it is ready to ship? Can't locate that on their site.

Looks cool and I may just end up ordering one, but the flexibility of the framemeister/OSSC may suit me better.

If I were Nintendo, I would produce a nostalgic system that used cards (like the DS, or Switch, something along those lines) and I'm guessing people would pay well for "The Complete Super Mario Collection" or "The Complete Zelda Collection" or "The Complete...whatever".
or, maybe I'm wrong. But considering how well the NES/SNES Classics sold, I would certainly have tried something like that.

why does it have to be a different system? Just do that for the switch and it'll sell like hot cakes

Consoles like these sell in the thousands.  Nintendo consoles sell in the millions.  They cancelled a console that would have sold many millions more, just because they felt like it.  Nintendo has zero interest in what is essentially a rounding error in their accounting.

They essentially did that with the Classics, and didn't have to mess with physical media.

The SNES pads included in this look similar to the newly released 2.4ghz (Not bluetooth) 8bitdo SNES controllers released for the SNES classic.   I would assume that they are 2.4ghz.  Not even sure if they need a 2.4ghz retro receiver to work on this thing as none is pictured in any promotional material.  But I would bet it's not the bluetooth version, though those should work with a standard retro receiver.

Now what I wonder about the Super NT is how powerful the FPGA is.  Would it be able to run any 32 bit cores?  GBA?  Perhaps even Saturn or Playstation?  Assuming it is jailbroken and someone has created such a core.
