So I have been working two "servicey" type jobs for going on six years now. Don't get me wrong, they pay the bills and keep my addictions well fed - that's for sure. My opinion, however, is that neither of these jobs I work are what I consider my all-time career choices, but they became long-term, because I'm a patient schmuck. So about a week ago, a buddy of mine tells me that his work is looking for "someone to play vinyl records" on Sundays. They would pay me just under what I make every weekend at one of my jobs - but just slightly under! Now I'm no DJ Dancemaster Supreme over here, but vinyl records I do gotsi! My buddy knew this and I had worked with him before, so being the good friend he is, he offered the gig to me. So I met the GM of the establishment for about a minute because she was closing down for the night. She told me to email her some info and a SoundCloud link to anything I've done...um ok! I told her I had nothing like that, and that I was mainly a big nerd for vinyl, but that I'd send her something for sure. So guys and guys - just kidding, and gal - of NA, I'm kind of afraid and kind of excited at the chance to do this, as music plus getting paid are deep passions of mine. About 30 minutes after I met this GM, I went home and decided to record myself playing records on my turntable - through my shitty phone's mic - and when I was done, I made a new SoundCloud page and threw it up there. It's just a mix of some random goodies, but y'all should check it out, especially if you like low quality bootleg recordings! Here, I'll drop y'all a linkeroo: https://soundcloud.com/user-47577...

So feel free to leave feedback and such. Give your fellow NA dude some good vibes and help me feel good about applying for this job. If I get it, and it works out, I can maybe quit one job and play music instead  Thank y'all in advance!

Well good luck man!

Sounds like you're kind of just getting started on your own, geurilla style. Well hell... that's cool!

I'm sure there are lots of resources online and videos you can learn from.

Good luck and have fun!

My initial thought was, being a DJ is kind of a side job anyways (until you can actually catch some steam?) so maybe start there.... but you seem to have covered that. So yeah... sounds cool!

Dude thank you for the kind incite! I see this opportunity as a stepping stone into doing things I actually love.

Of course, man. That's pretty radical!!

Had you said "I'm quitting my full time job to become a DJ" that would be a little different, maybe, haha.

But since you've got your shit together, that sounds perfect fun.

Thank you again for the awesomely kind words! I will take any "constructive" criticism, especially the kind that boosts my confidence!

I just got off work, and I might go play a bunch of tunes and blow some steam!
