It's specified that you can "increase your bid at anytime" but whatever.

Yeah, I think you cover it with INCREASE your bid anytime. That is a decreased bid. I see it as Null and Void, but I'm no admin.

Not an LE auction without some drama....

even if someone allows it it's still bad form... if it was done intentionally.

It makes me smile a bit that the person who publicly said he was "going all in" and then PMd me saying he'd "pay what it took" to get a #1 would force me to clarify this.

Going forward, downbidding is not allowed. What kind of auction have you ever been to that allowed anything like that?

Also going forward, The Hero is no longer allowed to upbid. His current bid will be his final bid on this auction. Anyone else who attempts to downbid their bid will be disqualified from this auction.

Thanks, and let's get back to the fun.

For the first time in one of these auctions, I'm fairly confident that I won't get bumped off.

(We'll see what happens though, maybe a bunch of holdouts are willing to make $300+ bids)

There is definitely a strategy to this format.

Sorry, but if bidders aren't allowed to edit their bids, how are you allowed to edit the terms of an active auction?  It's not his fault you didn't fully proofread or test this auction format before going live.  It is your responsibility to live and learn, not to discriminate against bidders when they find ways to minimize their cost basis on your auction.

Also, your wording says "you're more than welcome to increase your bid at anytime".  It does not say decreasing is forbidden.  There is a difference.

Yeah, but if someone contacts you and works out a complicated deal, like getting number one copy for bidding the highest amount, asking for payment plans, etc., and you come to an agreement, only to have that person go back on everything they asked for, wouldn't that qualify them as a time waster? I would've done the same thing.

Don't get me wrong, the deviant in me loves finding loopholes, but I think that "ban" he instituted wasn't just for downbidding.

Also, happy with the new auction format. F' you for creating the one bid only scheme!

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

If you wanna get technical about it, his first bid of $333.33 wasn't even valid.

But I appreciate you coming into my thread and stirring things up almost 20 hours after they have been dealt with, as opposed to PMing me your concerns.  Really appreciate that.

I think it's common sense. What's the point of having bidding at all if everyone can just drop out of the race after trolling the auction and raising the bar? It seems obvious that you can't bid $900 and then drop it down to $5 near the end of the auction. That would be trolling, not minimizing cost basis.

I think it was sufficient to change the rules going forward (adding what is already implied in all auctions). As for taking someone out of the auction, tough beans. His auction.

Okay, so in the event that The Hero would like to bid again, please just PM me your bid Issa and I'll bid on your behalf. I'm banning Khan's ban. Two can play that game.

Then he'd be stuck with two bids.
