I've watched almost all of them end in the last ten years, I may have missed a few, but I remember in 01, I watched 5 slip by on ebay for 60 bucks each, before their rarity was established, sigh, the one expensive game I didn't buy early, well that and NWC

Right, but the label damage caused that I'm sure. Do you think the number made a difference one way or another?

I bet the number had some bearing, it did for me, but still...very low ending when compared to all others, could have been even less with a high number maybe

Sorry but I call shenanigans.   I bought my sealed one for 710 and that was only maybe 4 tops 5 years ago and a loose one sold the month before for about 550 if I recall.     At the time people thought 710 was "crazy".

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

Yeah, I agree.  This one goes all over the map depending on who's searching for it at any given time.  $500-1000 loose, it's a hell of a price range to be sure.  I think Sparky may be confusing the ones listed at a grand for ones that have sold

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

^It's been many years since it's been for sale publicly! Since I started the guide, we've been running off of ONE SALE at $900 listed at eBay up until a couple months ago. There were others but they were invariably yanked.

Exactly.  It's pretty much been a private-sale-only item for a while, with very few (if any) open auctions going their full duration.
