So Nintendo just streamed their new Nintendo Direct and they announce a bunch of neat stuff. Among what was announce, I am personally excited for the remakes of Luigi's Manision, M&L:Bowser's inside story, and Okami. I am also pretty excited for the Splatoon DLC and new Super Smash Bros. for switch.

So my question is, what are you excited for and what were your thoughts?

It is a whole new single player campaign from what I understand.

I'm pretty fuckin' excited for almost everything shown in that Direct. Like, they just showed Crash out of nowhere, then just continued with the Direct like nothing every happened. Plus Smash of course. That Direct was WAY better than I expected it to be.

Smash Bros! Fuck yeah!

I haven't seen the direct, is it a port of the WiiU game? I'd be fine with that.

Also, undertale is coming to switch, that's great for people who missed out on it. Great game

It's showed a squid from Splatoon so it will at least have additional content.

They didn't say it is gonna be a port nor a new game. My guess is it is gonna be a "definative" version of the Wii U version.

Hoping for more big original games soon. Nintendo Direct seems to be highlighting ports and remakes lately with the new stuff being a couple installments into long-running franchises. Nintendo is where I look to for cool new stuff, not the same old thing

Unfortunately ports and remakes seem to be all they are interested in the past few years. It's easy money, so i guess i can understand.

You have to remember most 3rd party developers got on board the last 6 months. Not many of them believed in the switch so look for 2019 to be the year of new original games not from Nintendo IP's.... until them Nintendo is throwing everything including the kitchen sink to make sure the steam doesn't slow up for the switch.

How many AAA tentpole games can a company output at a time?  I'm glad they outsource as many ports and remasters as possible to fill out the schedule while they try to complete the new Metroid, the new Fire Emblem, the new Pokemon, and so forth.  They're probably already in the early stages of the next Zelda, and the next Mario, and new Star Fox or Luigi's Mansion or whatever else, but these things take time.  Nintendo is not stupid.

Captain Toad, been waiting for that one!

Just give me Pikmin 3 and Mario 3D World on Switch, and THEN Nintendo can stop with the ports. Oh and maybe DKC Tropical Freeze too, but I'd be happy enough playing that on 3DS.

After that, they should have had enough time to get something new and amazing out, let's see it!

Back in my day when you rehashed a game, you used the same game and threw new levels into it! Make new levels for Captain Toad, Donkey Kong Country, and Warioware. I don't care if it's basically the same exact game, just give me different content at least. There's low effort and then there's no effort

They need to keep pumping out ports of Wii U games since no one gave 2 shits about that system.

I cant believe theres a Dark Souls Amiibo.

This is hilarious to me, as well! I wonder how all the super hardcore Dark Souls fans are going to take that one? They'll probably call it some sort of insult to the very concept of Dark Souls, and then immediately preorder it anyway.

Oh right, must of missed that under the deluge of Wii U ports! Once you start getting them all in the space of 1 to 2 years, it feels like they actually did bother making more games for that system than it seemed! I would still probably prefer to play this one on my 3ds though, if I had the option.

I picked up a Wii U not long after the Switch came out and have been picking up games for it. All these ports make me wish I had waited for the Switch. Really good for those who did not pick up a Wii U
