Hi, I got into retro gaming a few years ago when I dug out my old SNES and NES consoles. I started repairing and modding consoles while looking to get the best video quality out of these systems. I've been installing RGB mods and other retro system upgrades for a couple years now.

I have about 50 NES and SNES games, but mainly use flash carts for most of my systems. I picked up a bunch of Universal Game Cases and printed out some covers from thecoverproject.net. They look pretty nice on a shelf but unfortunately don't fit SNES manuals.

Here's some projects I've worked on so far:

Hi-Def NES

NESRGB

SNES RGB/S-video mod

TG16/PC-Engine RGB Amp

Ultra HDMI N64

Starfox 2 SNES cart (made from Stunt Race FX)

Backlit SP-101 Screen in an original GBA

Welcome!

If you enjoy collecting original media, I have some higher value and/or harder to find games that I would trade for some RGB modding services. Please message me if interested.

Welcome to NA!

Have you ever tried monkeying with Sega Genesis or Turbografx-16 mods or are you strictly a Nintendo guy?

Hi, I've done quite a few PC Engine and TG16 RGB mods using the THS7314 amp circuit, as well as recapping Duo boards. For the Genesis I've installed Tiido's Crystal Clear Audio Mod and ArcadeTV's RGB Bypass for Model 2 systems as well as S-video and stereo jack mods for Model 1's:

Maybe you can tell me if the dog barks 1 time or 3 times when you start a game of Duck Hunt on Hi-Def NES...? I did my own Hi-Def NES install (pretty good, if I do say so myself). I deliberately installed my Hi-Def NES in a system with screwed-up video output to salvage that NES, so I just want to know if mine is bad.

Yes. I know you can't really shoot ducks through an HDMI-connected display.

I hooked up my front loader high def nes and here are results.
HDMI connected = 1 bark
Same console hooked with composite = 3 barks

AVS = 3 barks
