Here is the story:
Last night this was posted in a CL region about an hour away from me (still a populated area, but not as much as the main CL area I usually search in). I was watching the World Series, and ended up falling asleep for an hour or so before viewing the post. When I woke up, I browsed and saw the post and was so angry with myself as it was up for almost an hour and a half by the time I saw it. Anyways, even if it was nearly 11pm, I called the seller with no response. I left a voicemail, and shot over a text asking if it was still available. About a half hour later I get a reply saying "still available, call around noon tomorrow (Sunday)". I hardly slept as I was so anxious about the lot, even though I had basically given up hope. Around 9:30am I called the seller off of my girlfriend's phone (so if it was too early he wouldn't hold the phone number against me and not sell it to me or something). The seller answered, said it was still available. I told him I would leave within the next 5 minutes (and be there in about an hour as it is a bit of a hike). I said I would pay an additional $100 if he held onto it for me... he agreed. I drove 85 the whole way there, and was going far too fast on the bit of main road driving I had to go thru. I figure there was a very good chance someone could offer far above what the (very low) asking price was on the lot, and he'd forget about my $100 extra.
Anyways, I get there and get the lot! It was a husband and wife selling their house, and they said all the NES stuff was their daughters (good freaking taste in games, girl). Every one of the boxes is complete, and most are in fantastic shape (all the MMs are in great shape, most being NM)... BB2 is fantastic as well. I've never owned a U-Force, so I'm excited to keep that even though I know nothing about it. Also, I really like getting lots that have hints and codes written down on scrap paper; the folder contains many of these sheets. I always keep them; I have a box somewhere in my room with all the hand-written tips and codes I've ever found in lots, and this one has the most I've ever seen in one lot.
Anyways, I was amazed I still got the lot nearly half a day after it was posted (granted most of that time was late night/early morning)... still amazed. One NA member has many of these games pending, but all besides Metroid are available (most of the uncommon/rares are pending by the one member, though). BB2 is still available.
here are the photos (also, notice what is at the end of the table being held... my girlfriend was looking at the framed photo while sitting there looking at the find, and I figure it was a good time to take a photo as I will get to pass it on to another member this Christmas!!!):
