kaka...hmmm..so dissapointing, where's the brazilian's flare, i want to see more of it..the koreans were obviously scared like shit, but they scored a good goal at the end. Overall, not the kind of game i expect from the mighty brazil.

bah, Mexico got in the same group as the host... that's some bad news considering the host always makes it to the next round.

Actually, the second round should prove to be more interesting.
Everyone seem to always be so nervous at the first round due to the importance of the tournament.
I'm very curious about Spain, though.

today's games were great in my opinion...

first off, unbelievably relieved new zealand pulled out a tie, means italy is still very much in this

second, am very very impressed with north korea. i have to admit i was routing for them, they played their hearts out, never gave up, and most importantly played with great respect. one of the cleanest defensive matches ive seen.

i hate north korea as a country, but i cant help but love their team. i think they have a chance to go far.

Unfortunately i missed the new zealand's match, gotta wake up sooner.

I came in thinking North Korea will pull the stereotypical 80's sports flick where they are the bad guys, and to my surprise movies aren't always true.

pvr that shit man (or tivo i think its called in states)...yea i was actually looking forward to this match almost as much as the italy match. i never really saw north korea in anything except in documentaries and movies in which they were both portrayed like pretty badly. i wondered what kind of style would they play and their discipline and stuff.

one of the north koreans crying during their anthem is when i was like "shit, these guys are really patriotic people" . they really represented well and even when they lost they went to the center of the pitch and took a bow to the stands. you gotta respect that.

Holy shit.

What did I just watch.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, this is pretty much par for the course for Spain in the World Cup.

Big upset! And what a game. I thought for sure Spain was going to turn this around or at least tie the game once Torres came in, but Switzerland had a tad bit more luck.

I love Switzerland for their upsets. They can be mean underdogs. Go Suisse!

And the almighty Spain feel in it's first match.
That was unexpected. They'll be crazy after the win next match.
Good job, Switzerland.

Spain lost. But it really means nothing. Two easy wins next and they're in the tournament.

Switzerland is a very strong team. With an amazing defense. I knew this game would be no walk in the park. According to the shots and time of possession, you'd think Spain had won the game.

Haha, it's just one game my friend. It won't eliminate them. If worst comes to worst they get second in the H Group and have to play Brazil first. Brazil vs. Spain should be the final match, but it isn't possible sadly.

To be honest, I'm not worried whatsoever. They have two easy games to get some momentum going, and they'll be back in action.

Zoso471 - What other teams you fancy besides Italy so I know? Haha.

I like USA, Spain (Just like the players), and Italy (I'm 50% Italian).

well im italian-canadian. my family is 100% italian all the way back, and im 2nd generation canadian. so since canada cant play soccer, the only team im going for is italy. otherwise i dont really care, i would just like to see an intense final (wouldnt mind a ridiculous underdog like north korea or switzerland winning it)

FORZA AZZURRI!!!
