Hey guys. I got a SNES that I got a problem with. It is in pretty much flawless condition, but when I hook it up, it will only show blacks and grays. It does it no matter what type of hookup I use.I got it opened up and it has no visual damage of any kind. Anybody have any ideas as to what I can do, if anything? Thanks!

Not much you can do with an SNES except the regular cleaning and stuff. I have an N64 that does something similar and I cant seem to get it working.

maybe it's getting a bad connection on the pin connector.. if you're thinking about replacing it, they had 2 different pin connectors, check yours out before buying one. I have a few of one of the types if you need it PM me..

one guy told me it was one of the inside chips that went bad when i had a similar problem ... if the case is flawless i suggest getting another snes and opening it up and replacing the shells ... the connectors and such may or may not work and it will set you back probably just as much .... then i'd sell the broken SNES on ebay make it like $5 or something to get it out of your house (at least that's what i did with mine and made sure they knew it was broke)

At least I'm pretty sure that's one of the two possible types of connectors..

I don't see many on Ebay right now..  I've seen them before but I haven't looked in a while...

Thanks man. I got a feeling I have a bad chip somewhere. I was gonna try and swap the pin with my personal one to see if it works, but I don't expect much. I had the same idea as Ant to buy a crappy yellowed one, maybe that comes with some good games for cheap and swap the cases. Then sell the other for a couple bucks for parts or whatever. It just sucks because this thing looks great.
