yea so i got a speeding ticket, i was going like 20km over, but the cop reduced it to a 10km/over ticket. its a $40 fine and 0 demerit points but the big thing im worried about is my insurance...

im a fully classed driver (g license) and driving for about 2 years. would my insurance go up? its my first ticket as well, i have a clean record.

I'm not sure about how different US driving rules are against Canadian driver rules, but if it doesn't add any points to your license, then I don't believe it affects your insurance. Take it with a grain of salt though, i've never had any kind of ticket before. *knock on wood*

Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible!  Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

Only $40! I was going 10 MPH over the speed limit in San Deigo and it was $241 + $54 for traffic school. I hate CA some times, but the weather is great so what can you do.

Down to the last 2 Sega Game Gear games I need for the CIB USA set. What I will pay for CIB:

Fantastic Dizzy -$300 & Sports Illustrated -$300

I doubt so. But why don't you ask your insurance company instead?

Not always true.  Pleading "no contest" doesn't give you points for minor offenses in most states, but will still hit your insurance.

the internet is useless, im getting info on the both sides of the fence...i can't fight the ticket as i wouldn't have an excuse and it would most likely get raised back up to 20km/over. fack...

Usually it takes two tickets for your insurance to go up, unless you're under 21 or 18 or whatever.

But that also varies by insurance company. Some will jack your rates way up if you get a ticket for no seat belt, whereas others just count it the same as a regular speeding citation.

How would you insurabce even know?
As soon as you get nabbed do the police notify your insurance company or something?
Unless there was an accident involved, I'd be curious how they'd even find out.

they do something called an mvr or mrv or something where they do spot checks on your driving record. so because it is a first offense and its minor im not sure the chances that they check the report, i guess it depends how lucky i am and how anal the insurance company is...if my insurance get jacked up than im just fucked beyond belief.
