Update on this situation. After calling GameStop twice, the representative told me to send the item back and they would send a replacement.

I thought this was odd so I reiterated what see said back to her and see assured me that they had more in their warehouse for situations like this, eventhough they show sold out on their website.

I told her to send me a return slip then.

What do you guys think, should I send it back? I'm a little worried she may be wrong and then be out the game, which is worth $300 while only receiving a refund of the retail price of $129.99.

Any thoughts?

I think it depends on what you are more worried about. Having a mint version, or the percieved 2nd hand resale value?

I'd prefer the mint copy. My concern is returning the item only to receive an email stating that they misspoke and didn't have any copies of the master edition left and can only refund me my money, of $129.99.

Hope that makes sense.

The only thing that perceivably makes it worth more is the different box and the master sword statue in it. Everything else is available in the special edition, and the game itself is only retail price, minus what it might drop to in the future. So I'd say open the damn thing and enjoy it. I wanted the master edition for the statue, but the chances of me getting one are slim now that people just buy short stock to flip.
