sounds awesome, but I cant pay for something a year in advance lol. maybe 2-3 months with a preorder but 1 year and it could be nearly 2 if they wait till the end of the year is a long time to take someones money. When does paypal refund expire anyway?

45 days or something like that. Long before these will ship. I have preordered from them twice before and they have delivered. I was gonna wait to order till they were in stock, but the first run sold out too quick.

I bought 3 :-P I will wait the 2 years for them. These things usually sell for 150-200 when you get them so for 200, I should get 300 back after keeping one for a free CIB and 100 profit.

Patience my young jedi, patience.

If anyone is LOOKING for certain repro/homebrews, I have a running repro company thread going as well as a lot of extras myself which include Limited Editions as well.  I'm also free to help answer questions and point people in the right direction so never hesitate to ask!  Here is the current list of repro companies.  Please let me know if I need to update it:

I'm hoping that if the releases they put out continue to be successful, we'll see the whole catalogue available again. It seems from a buisness standpoint that it wouldn't be so hard to replicate their previous releases to have a steadier stream of availability. I agree though, the turn around time is getting a little bit crazy on these independant releases, they do put out fantastic quality though, I won Beggar Prince and it's a gorgeous looking piece for any sega fan's collection.

I think my fav flip with the Pier Solar first print. Paid like $50, waiting two years, sold it for $400. great times.

Are people considering this a licensed SNES game? I'm just curious, with all the hype of "This is the first NEW snes game in 15 years!" Technically, there have been tons of homebrews and hacks released since 1998.

Unlicensed, I called Nintendo, spoke with a few people. They told me since the SNES discontinued after 2000, all games released after that will be unlicensed.
(called to figure out about my own projects, not necessary for NB, but I guess it applies)

I don't even consider it unlicensed, I consider it homebrew.

NB would be the farthest thing from homebrew I have ever seen.

The quality of the game has no bearing on it's classification as far as I'm concerned. It's being developed well after the system has been dead, it's homebrew. Same thing with Battle Kid, and the recent Cheetahmen II remake. That's all homebrew.

That said, I'm looking forward to this game.

Nightmare Busters was almost entirely finished by a team of professional full time programmers/artists around 18 years ago during the SNES era. It is not even close to the homebrew of today which is done by 1 or 2 guys working in their spare time without getting paid.

Well "almost finished" isn't the same as finished and released. Can't we make this exact same argument about the recent Cheetahmen II game?

I played Christian's (knightriderce) copy of this game and it's pretty sweet. Very well done and definitely challenging. Two years from now though I could very well be dead so I'll pass for now.

But almost finished means the game was already mostly programmer, therefore not a homebrew right?

Since the game was almost finished it wasn't a from the ground up development like homebrews are.

I consider anything released in 2013 for a system made 20 years ago to be homebrew, it's fine if people have a different opinion but it's hard for me to consider this an "official game" needed for a complete set.

That said, I will be buying this game.

i JUST remembered that i preordered this... nice to see that it will be released sometime this year! long wait!!!

also, there is no way this is a homebrew... if anything, it is a reproduction. no one said it needed to be obtained to have a complete set of anything.

Look, if you don't like the things that I post, don't PM me about it and don't start a war in a thread. Just FOE ME so you don't have to read my posts! That's why Dain put it there! Use it!!!

I would stay away from homebrew  word as alot of people (specially media, review sites, magazines) that are not really well informed in homebrew development for retro games, and think of homebrew as hacking, doing something illegal, or something like that.

I rememeber I made an article for Ezine articles where I talked about SNES homebrewed and it was pulled after publication because it talked about software homebrewing, which was something negative according to the site ( which is a big article site) As well as hubpages and go articles pulled that article.

So I want to refer it as "indie" rather than "homebrew".

Nightmare busters to me is an Indie Unlicensed game.
