Like the title says, what was your best gaming find ever?

Mine was at the local flea market. I got an Atari 2600, Colecovision, Intellivision, 2 pong consoles, an old TV, some books and a suitcase full of games for $100. Since then, the guy gave me everything else I wanted to buy for free, until he liquidated everything and went to another province.

As for Nintendo stuff, I traded a PSone and Pokemon edition GBC for Action 52. Also found Zombies Ate My Neighbors for $2 because the owners had to leave the country the next day (nothing suspicious about that) and a Game Boy Micro for $5 on Kijij.

So can you beat me? Let's hear about yours...

Complete Lunar Silver star for Sega CD for $3.99 at a thrift store
Damn near mint CIB Bomberman 64 Second attack for $30 from a local retro shop
Very nice CIB NES mario is missing with the map and poster for $5.99 from a buybacks
NES top loader with a dogbone and 6 games for $8.99 at that same thrift store

Hard to pick between them honestly, Bomberman Second attack is probably the best out of them.

CIB Killer Instinct edition SNES with like 7 games (not killer instinct oddly enough) for $20.

Sold the SNES for $25 to a friend, traded the box for 4 really dope N64 games, kept the games it came with. So rad.

I also got a N64 ($10) and CIB PS1 for $10 at that same sale.

I worked later with the girl I bought them from at my job lmao...I felt bad every day.

I found N64 Bomberman The Second Attack CIB in beautiful condition for 25 cents at a garage sale. Guy had about 15 other boxed complete games he sold me for 25 cents. Was my best score to date.  He also said he had a boxed 64 console that someone bought before I got there for $5.00...but for some reason he said they didnt want the games!

Yeah, damn.

I think my best find is a Stunt Racer 64 for $3 at goodwill.  Not in good shape, but pretty uncommon.  I did find a nice stack of mint CIB NES games at the same goodwill for $2 each but nothing special.

Trade-wise, I recently traded Complete boxes for Pokemon Gold, Silver, TCG (No carts), Pokemon Snap & Stadium carts for 64, and a beat up cart of Super Smash Bros. for a Mega Man 7 cart + Nintendo cart storage case that fits 20 carts but missing the top to it. I found a completed sale for the storage case that sold for $120 at auction with the top. Did great I thought and MM7 completed my cart only Megaman SNES collection.

Best purchase I've made wasn't like the rest of yours finding great deals at thrift stores, etc. It was a CL deal that I got a mint SNES w/ hookups and 2 controllers for carts of Super Metroid, CastleVania, TMNT4, Mario Kart, All Stars, World, RPG, and Mega Man X all for $75.

Another recent one was a CIB SNES (The version that doesn't have a game bundled) with an extra controller and carts of Sunset Riders (label pretty worn torn but my first copy.). Also got carts of Mario All Stars and Zelda all again for $75.

My buddy and i split a live auction win at the LA county tax seizure auction. It was right when i started collecting about 2 years ago. It was over 100 collector condition mostly 100% complete snes games. All the heavy hitters were included and in mint condition. Joe mac 2, ff2, ff3, KoD, both lufia, chrono, wild guns, earthbound, etc., etc. We split it and i sold most of the games i didnt want to finance other purchases. One of the only few games i have left is the evo search for eden i have set as my avatar. We paid 1400 plus a 210 buyers fee (15%). I couldnt tell you exactly how much i made selling/trading off some of the games because at the time i didnt care. Given the value of some of those titles today, i would say NR auctioning every game individually on ebay would easily bring at least $10,000 today. I dream of the day i find another lot like that one.

A couple of day's after one of my best friends died. I was coming home from school and my mom say's to me, guess what I found at my op shop. (She volunteers at a small crappy one). She then tells me she found a huge bag of gameboy and gamecube stuff, unfortunately it was mostly boxes and the 2 gameboy's in there had battery explosions and ruined nearly all the boxes.

Luckily she managed to get the following for $5:
Tales of Symphonia CIB (worth about $80 because it is aus-pal)
Final Fantasy CC CIB
Link's Awakening CB (worth well over $50 apparently)
Donkey Kong GB cart only
Super Mario land Cart only.

Best find ever was in one day in Utica NY. I was garage sailing and stumbled across a sale with a lonely NES. Talking with the family running the sale, they told me there was lots more in the basement, collecting dust. After about 12 trips from the basement the total haul was 145 carts, (lots of duplicates) 7 consoles (2 top loaders) 35 Controllers, a console CIB and 4 boxes full of av cables and power adapters. They asked if $75 would be too much.......
Later that day I found my Sharp NES tv in Clinton NY for $5.

the stars aligned that day.
