Good thing that isn't allowed this time or Arn and I would be looping the score by now and it would be extremely crazy to determine who would take 1st place.  
We are doing some extreme turtle hopping everywhere else where it is possible, though.

This is being fun. If he tops this, he totally deserves the 2017 title.  

Also, thanks for the fun updates, Ninji! It has been really nice to read Santa style updates here.  

Fantastic score, Bea! And that's STILL with giving up points farming in 8-4.  

I might have a couple of hours tonight to play right at the end of time, but that's all.

I find I make a bit more points by looping the second part of 8-4 quickly than farming the beetles and turtles.
But you have to be fast there for that to work.  

I had gotten 1,571,850 early this morning on and only managed to improve 2,100 points with my last run.
I am not sure I can improve this much more. But thanks for pushing me to the limit so far Arnpoly.
I think I am done for the week with this. If I have to jump on another turtle, I might go crazy!

Time to do one last set of turtle hopping just to make sure the score stands through the night.
I have slaughtered countless turtles and goombas so far. My sins will be impossible to atone to.  

If either of you record a run, I'd love to see a 1.5 million point run. I personally thought 1.4 was going to be max. This back and forth has been fun to watch

I will be doing that in two weeks time. I will need to get used to the bit of lag that the recording device I use adds to the TV output to do that.

Well, I was on track for getting around 1.3 million points a couple times, but messed up towards the end. It seems the best that would have gotten me is third place though. I haven't quite gotten the hang of the turtle hopping, so I don't see myself catching up to Bea_Iank or arnpoly today.

This is it. My very last score update for the year, and my last valid score, for I retire after this and will only be following the contest from the side lines after this.

Same here. I was happy just to break a million during the 2016 contest. Watching you guys push these scores to the limit is amazing and truly speaks to the level of world class competition in the contests.

wow really impressive scores guys, the most i could reach was 1.43 i know i left 20k or so on the flag poles but pulling another 100k+ i have no clue, great fun everybody and congrats to all the finalists

Cheers guys. I've not had time to improve my score really. I imagine Brock may yet pop up and beat my score (he's already shown he can do so if he doesn't mess up at the last second again), unless he's also not had time to play.

Well done to all participants and my fellow finalists, this year has been a blast, and you've all welcomed me into the contests quite graciously. I really appreciate that!

I have as much chance competing with these scores as I have competing against Scott Steiner at arm wrestling. It's just as well I was eliminated in the first round.

Well at least you could probably beat Scott Steiner at Ninja Gaiden!  

I usually try to keep the personal stuff off NA, but my best friend of 32 years that I used to play Tetris with every day after work passed away this week, sadly on his birthday, but he always enjoyed watching me post my scores during my active time during the contests and had a great appreciation of the effort that everyone put in each week and he would've been impressed by the scores that have been put up during the tournament. Great effort everyone! You guys are truly the spirit of the contests!
