Welcome to Friday Night Proto Dump!

Ones like this might already be dumped, but this is Sample 36. If you really want to get the full flavor, use the following Game Genie Codes, they allow you to get past the fifth level (where the sample ends) and all the way to the final boss. If you get there, a giant "NOT FOR RESALE" appears on the screen. It's pretty cool. This also gives you an excuse to play, imo, one of the top 3 NES games ever made. Luckily I had this dumped, because the physical board died like a year after I bought it <span class= " class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie3" src="https://assemblergames.com/styles..." target="_blank">https://assemblergames.com/styles..." target="_blank">https://assemblergames.com/styles..." title="Frown  " />

Here are the codes:

SXXGXAVG
XXUULPVO
SZNGKGSA

Here is the proto link:

Thanks for sharing. How/why did the prototype die?

Nice! Thanks. I remember the board. Didn't it have some weird thing that started protruding from the board??

thanks!! do the codes just get you access to the later levels, or do they change the gameplay (ie. invincibility, etc)?

So I just quickly checked, one is invincibility. I cannot remember which code is responsible for that, but you can tinker or check online.

First code is the same as the third

after doing a bit of digging  i did manage to get a way to start near the bosses i had to use the initial write for the lives to do so.so  you will need to use the infinite lives code if you want to have more than one life i couldn't start on the last bosses beause it would glitch and you would not be able to fight.

start on room before bosses and infinite lives

For anyone interested here is everything Mike from NintendoPlayer.com and I found a while back:

http://www.nintendoplayer.com/pro...

Getting through the cut scenes to see some of this stuff required some insane patience as you had to advance it almost frame by frame by loading save states from the retail game into the prototype. Also worth noting after some of the cut scenes finish the game crashes and the cut scenes last frame spins around a certain number of times(almost 100+?) After waiting for the wrap around cut scene thing to finish we found specific cut scenes load the unfinished sound tests which is how we found them in the first place!

I remember the cut scene crashing and doing the screen wrap around thing, going into the kitchen for a snack, and suddenly hearing the sound test chime from the other room. I ran back into the room and was like, "HOW?!"
