I am still in awe. With the scrutiny placed on the Patriots the whole season, this one cannot be "tainted" if you will.

Falcons played well all the way through. Patriots finally were able to strike when they needed, even though it took them the better part of the game to do it.

Brady will keep playing until "he sucks".
I thought the same thing! Until that last play where his knee was down questionably at the line on the replay. I say it was in, but i just can see KNEE-GATE being the next stupid thing the pats have to listen to.

I literally have no idea how they pulled that off...........it was a miracle.....i am still in shock. I had them down and out. The intensity the Falcons had at the beginning was out of this world. You could tell as the Pats made a comeback they started showing their lack of experience in the big games like this. I can't even imagine the pressure or what it must feel like to try to stay in the game and not let the stress get to you.

I was thinking the same thing, that I thought he wasn't in.  Brady was thinking it too, with the way he was acting.  But it was too late, as the confetti and press were released onto the field.

I was standing up from the fourth quarter onwards.  I could not sit still.  I cannot believe this happened.  What team comes back from a 25 point deficit and freaking win in overtime?  The Patriots, that's who.

I will be re-watching the game tomorrow.  And relive it all over again.

It really was a history making Super Bowl.

If there is anything for people to complain about it is Edelman's catch. I was looking at some posts on Facebook and people were saying the ball hit the ground. But they are just haters. I'm not gonna have a voice tomorrow after all that yelling I did. I was in a bar with Ravens fans all night so it was mostly terrible until the end, after the 4th quarter they shut up, it was great!

Skinny you're dreaming. I hate Brady just as much as anyone but he looked ok to me. You could say Peyton looked old in his last SB and it was time to hang them up, then you'd be correct. This is totally different though.

It clearly didn't touch the ground. Even stevie wonder could see that. It was the luckiest catch i have ever seen in my life. It went between one guys legs, he bobbled it, it then bounced off another guys foot and grabbed it literally an inch from the ground..........fucking crazy lucky catch! So awesome though.

Unbelievable. Even if you hate the pats, you have to admit that was an insane comeback.

Greatest comeback of all-time. Congrats. I feel so bad for those fans in Atlanta but they had all the chances to put it away. Unfortunately they gave chances to the greatest QB of all-time.

*Greatest Super Bowl comeback. The Eagles scoring 4tds in 8 and a half minutes in the 4th quarter against the Giants is the greatest football comeback. The greatest sports comeback ever might be Texas A&M coming back when they were down 12pts against UNI in the March madness basketball tournament with 44 seconds to go in the game.

What a fucking game! Right on a Pats victory, but a bit off on the score, just as I'm sure everyone was. I called a 27 - 21 Pats win, and it looks like I had the the 6 point difference right but that says nothing as to how the game went down.

Holy hell, what a show!

I think the context makes it the greatest comeback of all-time. I don't think that Eagles comeback was even close.

edit: and I was talking nfl

Yep. Bigger mistake than Darth Hoodie going for the onside too early. Game ends differently if the Falcons get 3 on that drive.

I told my wife going into the 4th quarter that you can't count Tom Brady out. I was surprised that Atlanta couldn't even manage to get a field goal in the 4th. I was going for Atlanta but truth be told, I don't really have a dog in the fight either way. Really makes no difference to me. That said Brady has to go down as the best QB ever. Maybe not the most physically gifted but the guy just knows how to get it done. He doesn't make the huge down-field throws like he did 5 or so years ago but he has pretty seamlessly adapted his game without any obvious drop off. I'd be willing to bet he's got one more run him. Atlanta's defense got tired for sure. They were on the field way too much for them to be able to hang on. When Atlanta lost the coin toss in OT I was expected it to end the way it did.

Well said about Tom Brady, that was simply amazing last night and he looked like the Terminator out there on those last 3 drives - unstoppable.  At 39?  Wow, he was getting pummeled out there a lot in the early parts.  Toss in that freak catch, what a great game to watch through to the end.  Congrats Pats fans - that's why Tom Brady earns every single dollar he makes.

The nose of the ball did touch the ground in his hands, but since that didn't help assist with the catch (or make the ball change direction) that still counts as a catch in the NFL rulebook.

That was just insane, but that's what happens when your D is out there for way too many plays against somebody like Tom Brady.

When they were down 28-3 and Brady hit a good pass on an out an up to the running back, I said "Uh oh, don't call it a comeback!" and everyone laughed. I was doing it jokingly but I did expect it to get close at the end.

Will probably go down at the biggest comeback of history with magnitude of the game considered. The other one that comes to mind is when the Seahawks came back to beat the Packers in OT during the NFC Championship game two years ago. For those who forgot, GB got an inception and TOOK A KNEE with about 4 minutes left because the game was that much "over". Seahawks get stops, rattle off a couple of scores to force OT in the last 3 minutes and got their SB appearance.

I am still in shock, even to this morning. I just watched the highlights and it's unbelievable that Patriots can be down so much, yet they still had the drive in them.

I found out the key to victory. Tom Brady and the TB12 product line endorses the "Athlete Recovery Sleepwear". You too can become elite with only spending $100 on this sleep top.

Bottoms will run you an extra $100 though. Small price to pay for excellence of course.

Looking at 16:44, I don't think it touched the ground at all.

Edit, actually, it does look like the nose barely brushed the ground, but I think he had possession before that.

The nose of the ball in NO way touched the ground. Look at the clip again in this video. It was a legit catch. It bounced around off the players foot. Not even the Falcons are trying to say it hit the ground because you can clearly see it in the review.

Look just after it hits the player's foot/leg.   He secures it and the nose barely brushes the ground.

Again, that doesn't overturn anything unless he didn't have the ball secured or if the nose brush ended up helping secure the ball.   So while the uproarers are correct that the ball brushed the ground; they are incorrect in their interpretation of that mattering in this situation.

I honestly just am not seeing it brother :/ I am watching the ball the whole time in slow motion and not once does the ball touch. Even Alford is quoted as watching the replay and saying he can't believe his own foot that kept it from touching the ground ruined the play for the Falcons.

I haven't seen any uproars on either side. Everyone is pretty accepting it didn't touch the ground   But hey i could be wrong.

Me neither, but somebody else mentioned that.   Only thing I've seen is people trying to say the knee was down on the last play before the ball broke the plane, which isn't conclusive at all, and the Pats were gonna ram it in on the next play anyway.

I hate the patriots. That was a catch all day. He had full possession of it when the ball tipped the ground and he never bobbled it.

If someone thinks that not a catch I dont think I could ever take their opinion seriously again on sports lol
