Today I received Stack-up CIB to complete my black box set, yay! Getting this item also puts me one step closer to a full CIB set for the entire NES.

Good news: I got a Solomon's Key CIB with the damn map that has the rooms on it in a "astrology chart".
Bad news: The box looks like shit and the map isn't mint.

This mother f'n box and map has been a very challenging find for me. Anyone else troubled finding it? Anyone wanna sell me a decent Solomon's box?

I know someone that might have a near mint box, but there is no map...

Addams Family and Destination Earthstar sealed, Solomon's Key CIB w/ map, and a World of Nintendo sign. Pics of sign in the price check thread. The sign is brand new and one of my best scores of all time.

I have really enjoyed this thread. You must have a killer job and understanding wife. My frugal mind can not wrap my head around buying all these gems in such a short time. My hat is off to you sir

I was thinking the same thing.  This thread is filling up very quick.  I did see that sign on Craigslist as well.  You ever grab that cart from over here in NR?

Hoskat ^^^ hehe, don't judge a book by its cover, lol! my fiance (wife in a month and a half) doesn't exactly approve of all my collecting of video games. she likes playing snes games so i know how to find her soft spot when it comes to playing games, but with me and collecting nes, she only approves because it was a grandfathered in sort of thing - i have been collecting long before i knew her, so she accepts it on that level, but she sometimes doesn't understand why people like us collect material things so habitually. as for finances, this shits expensive no doubt - i had to sell a lot of my stuff to compensate my nes collecting surge. i sold my entire card collection in the past 6 months (i used to collect garbage pail kids, sketch cards, and now it's all gone!!) and i'm glad you enjoy the thread, it's always good to add my contribution to entertaining NES folks. ;d

BuckNutty ^^ I got the sign. The guy was super awesome. I was expecting a young guy in this 20's or 30's, but this was a retired gentleman. He let me in his house and he had a Donkey Kong and Pac-Man arcade game, a Williams pinball machine (forgot title), a cocktail Spaced Invaders, and then he had a boatload of NES stuff he had saved from his children's childhood. He didn't just sell me the sign, he literally let me go through all his stuff. He gave me his e-mail and we're going to work out a deal in the future for some of the NES games. As for the cart, nope, I didn't even contact the seller. He seems a bit cocky in his listing, but needless to say, it's a very cool item. I want it but I don't have the space for it. The kicker for me is that it looks mint. It's in Akron if i'm not mistaken - what part of Ohio are you? I'm Cleveland eastside.

Brian! LOL, you are right, I am being lazy and that's exactly how I have felt. Here's today's items. A newer seller on eBay named kevincbr970rr sold me these. 100% mint. I want to buy more from this guy if he ever has anything else. I seldom get to receive an item listed as "near mint" that shows up wrapped to perfection and is solid. If you're a member here on NA, I want to commend you, whoever you are!!

Other than this, I haven't really gotten many NES items recently. It's because I had to slow down due to finances but also because I need only a select # of things and am having trouble finding them at the moment. I do have a package upcoming from Make Lot Not War and also from one of my "secret sellers", but it's mostly stuff I already have, just upgraded boxes. Will post pics when received.

That's awesome that the guy has all that stuff he's letting you make a deal with. Let me know if he's got anything that you don't want hahaha. I'm on the other side of Cleveland from you. Actually the carts in North Royalton (where I live, but not me selling), not Akron. But totally understand what you mean about the guy sounding cocky. Just the tone of his email makes it sound like he is not going to be a very easy person to deal with.

Those latest boxes do look very nice btw!

5/24/12: Whoa, I think I pissed my pants! A few boxes I still needed that I pulled off eBay: Little Nemo and S.C.A.T.. Upgraded box off eBay: Batman. Upgraded: Smash TV. A gem mint LAST STARFIGHTER, one of the hardest boxes to find for NES in my opinion. I couldn't pass this copy up. I therefore now have my near mint copy to sell - trust me box collectors, good luck on this one! A mint like new Kirby's Adventure which I still needed and finally the stack to the left, from my secret seller! ;ddddddddddd

[5/29/12] Definitely closing in on that CIB set! Sealed games are the middle stack: ShockWave, Laser Invasion, Sesame ABC, Sesame 123, and Exodus.

Solitaire closed out the AVE boxed set.. that one was very costly, timely, and agitating, but definitely easier than Color Dreams.

Game carts: Dragon Warrior 3 and 4, Bubble Bobble 2, and Stadium Events. As for unlicensed, I need King Neptune's, Castle of Deceit, and Panesians (although I have no intention of collecting the Panesians since their validity as retail releases is questionable).

Boxes, something like 40 (that's for licensed/unlicensed), if I'm counting only licensed, it's like 30, mostly all commons except for Tournament Fighters, Dragon Strike, and the 4 above.

Oh, and how could I forget, F2's box!

No kidding...you must have had one hell of a card collection to be able to raise the amount of capital required for a spending spree like this.  Either that or you've sold off your testicles (both metaphorically and literally ).  In any case, good that you're enjoying the ride.  Can't wait to see a picture of them all together in one spot!

And with a little one on the way, make sure that 'spot' is somewhere high off the floor!

Just found this thread but it's great. Interesting that you perceive The Last Starfighter as so difficult to find. I didn't have a whole lot of trouble with it (traded for $10 value at a game store to get the box/manual, bought the cart for $5 elsewhere later) but I don't see it very often either.

Whew... just read through all of the posts and I gotta admit I'm loving the updates as well.

I feel like for Stadium Events you probably have to rely on buying a copy from someone that you know owns it though right?

In any case thanks for the PM answer earlier and I'm looking forward to starting my own type of thread like this sometime soon as well

5/31/12: Mario is Missing 10/10 gem mint CIB. Can't believe i'm saying this, but it cost more and was harder to get than Mario's Time Machine. Journey to Silius CIB (thanks Jonebone!), uncirculated box for King of Kings, and a box for Silent Assault near mint. Homebrews: Nomolos Storming the CATstle factory sealed along with 6 proto/repro's that are simply awesome beyond imagination.
