Custom palettes have already been implemented in the beta firmwares. Original, FCEUX, YUV v3, and Unsaturated v6.

Yes, the ability to change from a selection of 3 palettes but not to add in custom palettes.
There has been some awesome work done by firebrandx recently on the nes pallette: http://www.firebrandx.com/nespale...
as well as RGBSource: http://rgbsource.blogspot.com/201...

would love to be able to just load up some new palettes into the mix rather than just have the 3 pre-chosen ones.

I've been playing a few games on my AVS+Everdrive combo lately, and I noticed the same random graphical artifacts on the screen for several games, so I'm thinking that I should not have upgraded to b7 firmware yet.

I wanted to downgrade to eliminate the artifacts, but I noticed that the change list for the AVS firmware is presented in an accumulative style, but not in a "historical" fashion (at least not for the beta FWs), so I'm confused as to what would be the best version to use with the everdrive. Has anybody else here had the same problem? Can you suggest a FW to use?

Yeah no complaints so far, but I've been playing so much Zelda BOTW on my Switch lately, my NES/AVS time has taken a back seat. All current beta firmwares can be found at retrousb.com/downloads/

When he gonna release a final v2.20 firmware? Anyone just checking the official product page still stuck on v1.10 is missing out on a lot of features and bugfixes.

Yeah, I was also wondering if there are any nees about the controller. I was thinking about buying a 8bitdo controller, but then decided to wait for the RetroUSB-version. Hope to get some news soon.

The 8bitdo controllers aren't bad if you just have one connected at a time and are in a relatively clean 2.4Ghz environment (ie not an apartment or dorm).

I have three controllers (FC30, NES30, an SFC30) and four recievers, 2x NES, 1x SNES, 1x Classic Mini. My preferred controller for NES use is the FC30 due to the rounded edges being more comfortable. They work fairly well and were good enough that Analogue included them with the NT Mini.

One caveat is they don't like being placed in adjacent ports for multiplayer due to interferance and crosstalk. The workaround is to connect one receiver to a Retrobit style extention cable to separate them so the transmitters aren't literally an inch away from each other. This kinda defeats the purpose of having wireless though when doing multiplayer though when you need a cable to get both receivers to work.

I'm interested in the RetroUSB wireless controllers. I picked up some 8bitDO controllers a few weeks back, and while they are convenient, there is noticeable input lag for timing sensitive things (Battletoads, speedrunning Ninja Gaiden, etc). Super convenient, but I'm also wondering what other options will perform like.

All modern commercial solutions will probably use Bluetooth and be subject to similar performance issues, except the rare Messiah controller (I have one but the Dpad is rubbish) and RetroUSB's proprietary RF controller coming out, ETA unknown. Vintage solutions are all IR and require line of site.

Is there any update on the next batch of systems and the controllers? I pre-ordered in Feb with a May timeframe. PMd bunny a few days ago with no response, but I figure he's busy enough to not want to respond to every single update request individually.

It takes a bit of time to flash. I don't think the system can be bricked in event of a failure. Just reflash it and try again. I also do get kinda nostalgic watching the red LED blink on and off during the upgrade process...

Ahhh, the blinking red light, does bring back memories! Nothing like a little nostalgia!
