Okay...So I found a game I really want to play, but it turns out it was only a super famicom title (parodius da!) can I still play it on my regular US released snes console??? If not...does anyone have any suggestions?  (other than dropping the cash on a super famicom just to play one game) is there like a lockout chip i can disable in the snes???

8bitking.. yes you can play them, but there are 2 plastic tabs inside the slot of the SNES that need to be removed.
It is pretty easy.. I use a butter knife heated on the stove to slowly cut into the plastic tabs.

They are the two tabs are either side that the SNES games fit into..

If you need a more detail explanation let me know and I will find a diagram or pic..

To break mine off I used a needle nose pliers first. That took off the majority of plastic pieces. I then heated up a razor blade with a lighter to skim off the little bit of extra plastic that was still there. It worked like a charm.

I have a converter that I use to play the SFC games. I just didn't want to mutilate my SNES.

I spent $200+ for that thing when it was brand new!

Get a Super Wild Card instead of a converter imo. Every snes owner should have it! Backup BRAM ftw?

There's dual systems out there but in my exp they all suck to a certain extent. Anyone know if famicom boards will fit in snes game carts?

Or you could just take the case off of the cart and just stick the PCB in the system.

1. You can take the Top Casing off the SNES ... 2. You can take the casing off the Super Famicom game .... 3. You can clip the SNES plastic pieces on the Top Casing ... 4. You can use a Super Nintendo Game Genie ---- any of the Four will work

And remember there's no such thing as a stupid question until YOU ask it ;-)
But ya try the above......unless your console's pal then youll need to disable the lockout.

I believe you can play SFC games in SNES model 2's. I think I've done it before, in fact .
