Batman Returns is an excellent beat 'em up on the SNES.

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Peace Keepers is legit.

Accidentally turned the sound off the first time I played it and was like "Well this is odd...." Then after the first level I was like "this ain't right"... went back to the settings and realized I effed up.

Music is incredible and Echo is amazing.

Echo... Hurricanranna's (including a reverse-rana???), Flying Knee, Scream, she's fast... Epic beat-em-up character.

Cool to see King of Dragons get so much love here. One of my all time favs.

The Final Fights, TMNT, Batman Returns, Captain Commando,Knights of the Round, The Power Rangers, Ninja Warriors are all must plays.

One I don't think gets brought up much is King of the Monsters 2. Maybe because the first entry was just straight up Wrestling, but the sequel expanded the gameplay to add more beat'em up style levels before fighting the bosses. It is colorful and goofy kaiju fun. It also is a fairly cheap title.

I will just say that most 'unique' brawler on the system would have to go to Ultimate Fighter. Check it out...

Is King of Dragons hard?

Not really... straight forward mechanics and the game seems to be designed to get pretty far on the amount of lives and continues given. Might take a few times to beat it.

Pirates of Dark Water is another beat 'em up that rarely gets mentioned. Slightly uncommon and I would say on the better half of the genre for the system, but not as good as TMNT, Ninja Warriors, Captain Commando or KoD in my opinion. Even though it's slow, the first Power Rangers game is pretty fun. The Final Fight series are always easy go-to games as well.

It took me a long time to beat on normal difficulty. Maybe I just suck, but I think I played it for like 2 weeks before beating it. It's my go to beat 'em up now, and my favorite one on the SNES.

Other recommendations, although I think they have all been listed here already:
Knights of the Round. Awesome to watch your character's appearance change as you level up and the fantasy setting is really cool.
Ninja Warriors. Being strictly 2D makes it different from most beat 'em ups, but the gameplay is TIGHT. The 3 characters you can choose from are very different, which adds a lot of replayability.
Legend. Tough game (the default mode is "hard" which I insisted on playing) and I remember barely beating it with a sliver of life remaining after many tries. Great mechanics that take some time to learn but work very well.
Sonic Blast Man 2. Much better than the first game, and has a very cool 90's feel.

I could list practically all of the beat 'em ups on the SNES because it's such a good genre and hard to mess up. The ones above are my favorites though.
