Back with a few more finds from the past week. Did a little bit of everything: Facebook, Craigslist, yard sales and a flea market (sort of). Kinda disappointed in one find, but they can't all be winners I guess. Anyway, let's get going:
Facebook - 6/24

A lady had posted it up and was asking $50 for all. Someone was already in talks with her and offered $30, but the woman said lowest she'd do was $40. I saw a few decent games mixed in, so I just replied back and said if they don't want it, I'll take it. They passed, I paid the $40. There's 32 games in total, the nyko 40-game case (which I think is a pretty cool little storage case) and a 3rd party memory card. She even met me at my work to drop the games off, so that was pretty cool.
Games are: Luigi's Mansion, Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Heroes, Harry Potter: Azkaban, Scooby Doo 100 Frights, Ty Tasmanian Tiger 1 & 2, Pikmin, Naruto Clash of Ninja 1 & 2, Pac-Man World 2, Pac-Man Vs., Tak 2, Kirby Air Ride, I-Ninja, Legends of Wrestling II, Splinter Cell, Medal of Honor: Frontline, WWE Day of Reckoning, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Fantastic 4, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, Tony Hawk Underground, NFL Street, Monster 4X4, Hulk, Shadow the Hedgehog, MLB Slugfest 2003, Madden 2003, Backyard Football and Madden 07
Craigslist - 6/26

CB Games - Top Gear 2, Buster Busts Loose, Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse, WWF Raw, Super Punch-Out, Uniracers, WWF Royal Rumble, Lion King and Robocop vs. Terminator
CIB Games - Top Gear and Super Caesar's Palace
Cart Only - Wheel of Fortune, Lethal Enforcers, Aladdin, Tetris & Dr. Mario, Cold Shadow Maui Mallard, Super Bowling, NCAA Football, Mario Paint, Power Rangers Racers and Clue
This is the somewhat disappointing one. Saw this listed at like 1:30 in the morning on Thursday. And I couldn't believe he was only like 10 minutes away, normally all the towns on Craigslist are at least an hour away. So I was thinking $100, he was at $140 and we decided to split it at $120. Met up at 8 am that morning right here in town and was all good. Then I got home and went through them, and almost all games didn't have manuals! They were advertised as with box and instructions. I don't think the guy genuinely knew, but rather just assumed they had the manuals. I didn't try to get back to him about it or anything, I was still kinda happy with the deal, but it did bum me out a little. Also, they're all former rentals so they have those silver, shiny stickers on both sides of the cart. Boxes for the most part are in good condition though, so that's a plus too.
Yard Sale & Flea Market - 6/27
- Crash Bandicoot 2, Wu-Tang Shaolin Style, PaRappa the Rapper (disc & manual) and South Park Rally & Frequency PS2 (not pictured) - $10
- Super Street Fighter & Zool - $3 each
A lady on one of the Facebook groups was advertising her yard sale, and mentioned having games. She said Nintendo, Sega and a box of Playstation stuff. So I pm'd her Thursday night to see if I could get a list of stuff. She sent me the Nintendo and Sega list, not bad, nothing too great either, but I asked how much for each. She said $50 a piece. Didn't know if it was worth it or not, since it was a little bit away. So I asked about the Playstation stuff, and she said the box was too big, too many to list. That got me a little excited, so I figured what the hell, I'll make the trip to check it out. So I go out Friday morning, get there, and I'm the first one there. I see the NES/Sega stuff and go through it a little. Genesis/Sega CD combo, some smushed boxed games (Mega Bomberman), hard case games, loose carts, a few Sega CD games. Not bad. The NES had the console stuff, about 15 games (best ones were LOZ Gold Cart, Mario 3, Double Dragon II), and a few bonuses: looked like all the manuals were there and some random inserts, and also the games were in a really cool GPX1500 storage shelf with the lid!
I decide to think it over a minute and dig through the PS stuff. Meanwhile, a younger guy and his girlfriend get there, and almost right away I hear him say something like, "Oooh Sega." So I get a little nervous, but don't think much of it. Continue digging and after a few minutes I hear him ask the lady how much for the Sega and Nintendo. I'm pretty sure I heard her say $30 each! What the heck, she told me $50 yesterday! I go and take one last look at the stuff before he takes them away. I go up to pay for my measly PS games, and I see $40 in her hand (I gave her $20 and she didn't have change on her). Damn, for $40 for both I definitely would've scooped it all up! Rookie mistake, you live and learn. Now I know and won't let it happen again. So sort of a losers weepers mixed in with my finds this week haha.
The 2 SNES games I picked up at some sort of indoor flea market on the way home. It's a few older ladies that run it, but there's a bunch of people that bring stuff in. Kinda sucks cause that doesn't allow you to haggle, but I've found some decent stuff there before. Not much there this time, she pulled out a small basket of SNES and a N64 game from behind the counter and said, "I have these. Don't know if there's anything good, the other guy already went through them." I guess I just felt like I had to buy something, so scooped them 2 up. Kept missing out that day I guess!
Yard Sales - 6/28
- (SNES) Super Off-Road & Zombies Ate My Neighbors and (NES) Rally Bike, Turtles 3: Manhattan Project, Gradius and Bart vs. the World - $10
- PS2 Slim Black w/ controller, memory card, hookups - $5
- (PC) 11th Hour, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and (CD) Cripple Bastards Split EP - $1 for all
There wasn't any good community sales going on for this past weekend, so I went old school: went through the Classifieds in the local paper and wrote down all the houses having sales in my town and went to those. I live in a pretty small town, mind you, so it was only 6 sales I hit up. I was pretty happy with what I got, considering that. First sale had the SNES/NES games. He was asking $2 a piece, but offered him $10 for the 6 of them. The PC/CD I got at the last sale. She was selling crap PC games and music CD's 3 for $1. I grabbed what I thought were the most interesting and got em. 11th Hour is kinda worthless lol, and the Star Wars game isn't that valuable either (had previous luck with other SW PC games). The Cripple Bastards Split is pretty rare from what I can tell, but not sure if's it's in that high of demand.
Facebook - 6/29

- Sega CDX w/ 4 controllers, mouse and hookups
- CIB Games: Flink, AD&D: Eye of the Beholder, Dracula Unleashed, Mortal Kombat, Dune, Ecco The Tides of Time, Bram Stoker Dracula, Jeopardy!, Eternal Champions, Star Wars: Rebel Assault, Double Switch, Mansion of Hidden Souls, Sonic CD (NFR) and Ecco the Dolphin (NFR)
- Disc Only Games: Willy Beamish, Night Trap (both discs), Sewer Shark, Time Gal, Revengers of Vengeance and Prince of Persia
This one was advertised on a local games only group. I normally don't check it that often since it's usually guys asking HUGE amounts for their stuff, so there's hardly ever any decent deals. This was up for a day or 2 before I saw it, and I couldn't believe no one jumped on it yet. She was asking $150 for all, firm. When I contacted her about it, I asked if she could do any better than $150. She told me to make an offer. I tried $100, she countered with $120 and I was perfectly fine with that. We negotiated on Wednesday, I believe, but we couldn't meet until Sunday. Discs are in very good condition, cases have some cracks/scuffs but overall very happy with the purchase!
So that's all for this week guys. Thanks for reading my mountains of text lol. Haven't found anything this week yet, and come Monday I'll be on the road, going on vacation to Tennessee for a week. Maybe I'll do a little hunting down there too, see what I can come up with. Stay tuned.
