I'll play through a full game to get my participation score in at some point. Playing through this game those outfielders man I don't even know what to say. It's like they were programmed to be Richardhead and Jamesrobot levels of worthless! Bring it on chuckleheads!

Can we switch to a different game?

The auto fielding absolutely ruins this game. I also believe it makes for a poor contest game since you have little control over your defense and therefore you are relying on randomness and not skill.

If not, that's fine. I just hope that at the very least Baseball is one and done for the contests. Sorry Doug.

Haha!

While I am not really a factor in these contests anymore, I am going to come out guns blazing during Battletoads week.

Woof.

I think you may have unintentionally exposed an issue with score capturing for this week.

You took your picture after the third out as instructed, however you can't see the line score for tiebreaking purposes.

Maybe the solution is to also capture your score during the bottom of the 9th.

^ Well,I'll take the bad end of the tie breaker if it means I don't have to play this anymore.

I wonder if someone made a hack to where your fielders are sped up and can be controlled. I think that would make the game fun actually.

If you pause at the 3rd out of the bottom of the 9th and take a picture, you can then unpause with camera/phone ready to get the full scoreboard.

I can usually get around the fielding with pitching.  I had a shutout in a score I didn't post because I could only manage 3 runs myself.  What I don't understand is how to consistently hit.

The problem is that if they put the ball in play, your fielders may or may not get it. They also may or may not pick the quickest path to the ball or may even switch to another fielder to get it therefore making that routine ground out a double or triple. Sweet!

I really want to like this game,I really do. It terms of audio and video,it has all that awesome Nintendo charm...but man....that game play. If this played like RBI Baseball this would be one of the best black box games.

Guts, I had the same concerns.......I feel like who ever just plays the game more is going to get a better score as it increases the odds of the computer just having a pre-determined "bad" game.

I am personally going to play the shit out of it until I get a good score so it won't hurt me any, but hey I could be wrong about the whole thing to I am no doubting that one bit...I am sure someone will clear some stuff up.

I thought I had the pitching figured out in terms of what pitches to throw and when, but I guess not.

What I don't get is why are the base runners faster than the fielders and why does it seem that your infielders are usually not in position while theirs are?

We have had RBI and Bases Loaded in past contests , I think this is a good change of pace this time around, we can always go to Base Wars next year

Figure this would be a good week to switch up the avatar

I will have to check that when I get home but I did notice something was weird there with player placement between teams.

If I am able to figure out the batting I should be okay but man it is brutal at times.....I want to just hit it far left/right field pretty much parallel with the diamond lines since the outfielders are basically zombies out there.

Home runs will be another thing........

My posted game,I hit 3 home runs which accounted for my first 4 runs. It just seems like when the cpu wants a big inning, more often than not they are going to get it.

Been investigating whether the pitcher shaking off pitches has any meaning. I'm not sure.

If you hold down the D-pad in any direction, the pitcher will either shake his head, which then you push another direction,or gets ready to pitch.

I'm not sure if this has any meaning on the game but it does seem like more often than not when I pick a pitch he didn't shake off,it yields positive results.

I love the black box games, and I played this one a ton as a kid - even after Bases Loaded was released.  I always played 2-player though and more for fun than competition.  The fielding mess is less frustrating in 2-player mode since it is equally bad for both players, but I'm with you on the outfielders especially.  It would really help if all 3 guys moved together under player control.

I wonder why they couldnt put player controlled defense in the game? was it just a rush job or something else limiting the program? i would be interested if anyone has an idea

Score 7-4 Jimbo! (+3)

i have been playing and resetting and cussing the name of all who created this game, but hey i won a game! it was a true classic as the D met the P! and as we have already established the P refers to Richardhead and Jamesrobot which coincidentally, I just happen to have a picture of them playing baseball together!

Ok I still don't understand these terrible controls. If I have a guy who moves to second, and I want him to continue to third, it should be left and B right?

If you want to run additional bases you have to press B+Down regardless of what base you are on/want to run to.

I think it will move "all" of your players that are on bases as well.

I think it's up,up,down,down,left,right,left,right,B,A,start.

Oddly enough you get 30 runs for this. Wow,what a stupid code. I'm sure no one will remember it.
