Hello everyone, and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests! This week we're playing Battletoads, so be prepared for this :



Here are the rules :

• 1 player only
• Play until Life 0 (no hearts remaining)
• Get as far in the game as possible
• No warps allowed
• Lowest score takes precedence in the event of a tie (ex. two players get to the beginning of the Clinger Winger stage.  Whoever has the lowest score at that point in the game takes precedence)
• Furthest progression wins with lowest score taking priority
• GENRE: Beat 'Em Up

The contest ends Sunday, 4/19/15 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

That comic,lol. I actually finally beat that stage for the first time last night. I still don't expect to do well and I suspect many others feel the same way.

I just played for the first time and got stuck at this point. I am thinking it really is that hard.

Dude I love stage 3! Those speeders are a piece of cake! The last section of the snakes stage is what kills me.

I have a new found respect for this game,but it's still not one of my favorites. Stage 3 got better once I realized I was making it more complicated than it was.

I think we will make it an excellent contest week this week!

I should be able to beat this game this week hopefully without maxing the score.

Lol,that makes one of us. The last time it was played I wasn't able to participate. Other than the last couple of nights,I had not played this game in about ten years. If I can tear myself away from Mega Man Powered Up I'll see what I can do. How many levels are in this game? 4000?

Only 12 levels! If you haven't played it much though it is quite the challenge! I've beaten this game a bunch of times so I have the game memorized at this point.

My only concern is taking the time to play it at all. In the evenings when I've had time to play games I've been playing Super Mario Galaxy instead. I'm addicted to that game right now even though I've played it several times too.

This game is cheap!

I've only been able to beat Battletoads once and that was right after we played it for one of the 2013 weekly contests. I haven't played the game a single time since then, so I'll probably just post a participation score later today and see how the rest of the week goes.

I've been playing this game since it first came out and have never made it past the speed bike stage. I'm hoping to change that this week.

I hope you pass it too, stage 4 is pretty interesting in itself.

Oh boy, oh boy.
This one would be fun to take part on, but my copy is still with mom, and there is no way I can retrieve it in time.
But I will surely keep an eye on how this progress.

Also, I am not sure it is possible to make to the Dark Queen with less than 999,999 points. How will this be handled?
You'd need to take a picture at the point you scored 999,999 points?

I got a score in so I'll probably take the rest of the week off. The overall leaderboard is two weeks behind, but I think I'm still in 2nd place so I might as well give everyone a chance to catch up.
