I know there's some rabid hockey fans around here, so let's make some predictions!

West

Anaheim vs Dallas
Colorado vs Minnesota
San Jose vs LA
St Louis vs Chicago

East

Boston vs Detroit
Pittsburgh vs Columbus
Montreal vs Tampa Bay
NY Rangers vs Philly

My picks;

Anaheim in 6 -- Dallas was too inconsistant near the end of the season, Ducks have a lot of offense
Colorado in 5 -- Wild have been too cold lately
LA in 7 -- Two very good teams, but I think LA is the better playoff team
Chicago in 6 -- St Louis is reeling right now, 6 losses in a row, and they got beat pretty badly in their last 2 games against the champs

Boston in 5 -- Detroit is always hard to play against, but Boston is a powerhouse
Pens in 7 -- Fleury will probably choke again, i'd love to see an upset here
Montreal in 5 -- They're hot, and TB is missing Bishop for the start of the series
New York in 7 -- Two pretty good teams, but the Rangers have the goaltending advantage.

I think the Habs are a bit of a dark horse. They should beat TB, then could beat the Pens before facing the Bruins in the East final. They really play well vs Boston. If Carey Price can steal the show, wouldn't surprise me to see them in the SCF. They've been playing very well the last month or so, too.

Nice to see a Blue Jackets fan too They got some really good young players on that team, Johansen will be a superstar in the next few years.

Huge Habs fan here. I think mtl can definitely go to the finals. Especially if they meet Boston in the eastern finals. But never count out Detroit.... Ultimately, if Boston doesn't go to the Stanley cup finals, a western team will win. No team in the east, besides Boston, matches the top west teams in physical play

Huge wings fan here but i think they are just too young and beat up for a series win let alone a game. I think boston in 5 maybe 4. For stanley cup i think Boston plays a california team.........honestly i think anaheim, la, or san jose will win the whole thing

I'm not a fan of how they pick the matchups now. We have to see the same teams play multiple times a year AND are forced to play each other in the Playoffs? It should stay only in order by division champ, then points, then keep the bracket style. I hate having to play the Kings again because they're such a boring team to watch. (Sharks fan btw) I'd much rather see the Sharks play Chicago if they picked matchups normally.

Either way my (hopeful and bias) predictions:
>Ducks
>Sharks >Sharks > Sharks>>>>>Sharks!!!!
>St. Louis
> Colorado >Colorado

>Boston >Boston
>Montreal
>Pittsburg >Pittsburg >Pittsburg
>NY

I only really care about the pens. But I think they'll win first round, would be lucky to get past second. No way they make it past there, unfortunately. No real, positive changes from last year. Dupuis injury is huge. Third and fourth lines are dog turd. Don't see how this team is better than the team that was swept by Boston last year.

If they do not make it to the finals, I really hope Bylsma is fired. Been wanting that to happen since end of last season. Guy doesn't know how to make adjustments. Just bashes his head against a wall with the same strategy thinking a different result will magically happen.

I hear ya dude. Any team that ices Glass on the 3rd line and Glass/Adams/Orpik as regular penalty killers and "last minute, close game" players has a bad coach. Bylsma has no idea how to make changes in a game. And his line shuffling is atrocious. He also cant seem to comprehend that Depres is better than most of our D scrubs (Orpik / Scuds) and Letang shouldn't be running the PP on the back end (much rather have Nisky or someone that can actually hold the fort on a turnover).

Oh well. I still hope the Pens get their act together and do something awesome. Definitely a long-shot, but we seem to have a favorable matchup so far and wouldn't face Boston until the ECF if it comes to that (hopefully, we can avoid Philly as well )

Hawks and Blues should be stellar, but could go either way. One of these years the Blues will figure it out in the playoffs. Hopefully they wait a year or so.

I'm really excited for the future of the Bluejackets.  I really don't expect them to make much noise this year but if they could upset any team it would be Sh*ttsburgh.  Fleury has lost his playoff mojo, I hate Sidney Crosby and hate the city of Pittsburgh in general.  I'm just excited to finally have a reason to watch the playoffs!!

If the Blue Jackets win that series, it will only be because Fleury shits down his leg in the playoffs again. Last time it was because he had a newborn though, so that might have had a lot to do with it.

And fire Bylsma? Really? Who would you rather have instead?

Anyone except Tortorella. Bylsma's run his course. He's too buddy-buddy with the players. Doubt he ever cusses guys out when they blow a game. His roster and lineup selections are questionable at best.

I dunno. All I know is when you have the two best players in the world, you should not be swept in any playoff round. I feel that shows you have no ability to make adjustments, which is a big deal.

But heck, they finished 2nd in the East with all their injuries. Maybe they'll find a way to pull it out round after round. I hope I'm wrong on my predictions.
