Trailer #3 is up on youtube.
Now is your chance to see a battle in action.

Feedback is greatly appreciated (hopefully it's positive), whether you comment here, or give a quick thumbs up on youtube.  As the video mentions, please subscribe so you'll catch more uploads in the future - I plan on updating more frequently as the game gets closer to completion.

I hope everyone is liking the battle sequence.  The youtube response has been positive, so I'm happy about that.

If you'd like to know more about this game, please check out this interview at RetroGameNetwork.com, which will talk more in depth about the gameplay, and it also gives a bit of background for this project.

And if you care to read more, there's this page at un8bg.com.

I came up with a paper brochure, and since it was handy, I wanted to share.  Plus, you'll get a taste for a couple new screens.  The upgrade subscreen shows the 25 various upgrades (improving resource gathering, weapon strength, troop training improvements, and more) and the level start screen, where you are given the objective for that particular level.

I have lots of old design on paper - ideas which were either implemented or cut, old screen layouts, sketches, notes for coding and that sort of thing.  Would there be any interest in me scanning these and putting them into my page on NintendoAge?  I was thinking it would be similar to one of those 'behind the scenes' articles in Nintendo Power, although it would be more illustrations and less writing about the illustrations.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing them! I did something a little similar with TTXO, and wanted to release some more stuff from other games. Since we moved I can't find that specific folder I kept things in : /  Anyway, yes, that would be coo' : )  Keep up the great work!

I too would be very interested in this material. The process is often more intriguing to me than the finished product, though in your case I'm happy to make an exception. Looking forward to it!

I have begun some uploading. For now, I just have 3 scans, where I started forming ideas of the types of buildings I was looking to include in the game, and what would happen at those buildings. I was also playing around with ideas of how to use numbers at the resources, since the NES can't simply display hundreds of troops on the screen. You'll notice the letters A,B,and C on the first page. I'm planning to add comments about those spots, and that is probably what I'll do for future uploads (simply show the page, and then add comments about random things on it). If you click on my profile, hopefully you can find the Design Scans link under my sites. Just let me know if it doesn't work. Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind.

The instruction manual is in progress, and I wanted to share a sample. I have been hesitant to give out any official release date, but I can tell you that the end is in sight. At the very least, there will be a demo by the end of the year - maybe sooner. If you PM me with your email, I will add you to a list that gets contacted at the time of demo release, cartridge release, etc.

I now have a development blog.  I'm hoping to add some sort of content weekly - if I have nothing new to talk about, I will add old stuff, which might be scans from when I was designing parts of the game on paper.  I used to go nuts over the Nintendo Power articles that had to do with game development, so maybe you'll find this to be cool.

The latest entries in the blog feature a preliminary sketch for the box artwork, and an interview from pixlbit.com.
