You never updated us with a picture?

Was it the Infotainment MK II Guide like this?

I've been hunting a cheap copy for a few months and I finally found one packed away in my boxes of guides in storage. lol

Big update!  Added a few new guides to the list and also have put in pictures for almost every guide listed....

:::Need pictures of these guides:::
  • Mortal Kombat [Bradygames]
  • NBA Jam Pocket Guide [Bradygames]
  • Street Fighter 2 [IMPORT]

Added these guides to the list:
  • Fighting Game Secrets II [Bradygames]
  • Fighting Game Secrets III [Bradygames]
  • Vidiot Boy's Guide to Passwords and Codes [Vidiot Productions]

I am very excited to get this into my collection as I've been looking for one for a very very very long time

Here's a quick group set as well.  One left to find.

So if anyone has the street fighter one please please PM me.  I am a very interested buyer.

Secret of Mana Variant with No color maps at the center.

I think it is a reprint because I have had about 50 copies with the color maps and only one copy without?

The caption on the cover changed from "Full Color Maps Inside" to "Specific Strategies Inside"

NBA Jam TE BradyGames $9.99 Cover Variant.

Shortstop444 and I were talking about this one a few months ago and he says the version without the $9.99 has a different ISBN and comes up as a "Walmart" version if you look it up.

I know this is an old thread but nonetheless I think it is helpful for those of us who collect guides   I noticed that Boogerman Game Secrets is missing. Not sure if it was geared more towards the Genesis or SNES. Maybe it could be considered as multi platform. Keep up the good work!

List has been updated and reworked a little to add variants and fix a few errors.

Long overdue bump!

Any fresh eyes have any to add?

The Super Star Wars Prima guide also has an NFR variant, but I'm not sure if that warrants an addition.

ETA: My apologies, I was mistaken, it's Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. I don't recall there being any differences outside of the sticker notation on the front cover.

Does the Jeff Rovin Gamemaster The Complete Video Game Guide 1995 cover any NES games/hardware/etc?

Also, here's a Dutch SNES guide; it mentions NES 16-bit on the front, but is for the SNES. There was also an 8-bit NES version.

Pieter,

The 1995 cover doesn't have any 8-bit NES items.  It does however cover everything else!  It has items relating to SNES / Genesis / Sega CD / Gameboy / Turbo Duo / CDi / Game Gear.

I noticed in the Jeff Rovin Gamemaster book there is a section labeled "New NES releases" or something similar, but it is referring to Super Nintendo games so it was a bit confusing on what they were actually talking about compared to how the title read since it is always the 8-bit Nintendo that we tend to think of with the word NES....

Thanks for looking into it, Andrew, I appreciate it. I assumed 1995 would be too late for NES in the NA market, but with Jeff Rovin's NES books, had to check. Great to know for sure! In Europe, there are 1995 books that still cover the NES, but I think that's as late as it gets for NES era tips & tricks coverage.
