Please read all of this before pledging/bidding to avoid confusion and to miss your chance to own a copy.

All proceeds from this auction and the HBWC NintendoAge Edition will go straight to NintendoAge.

Please note, if you have any questions not answered in this post, please PM me.

Any posts that are not pledges/bids will be deleted and any questions will go unanswered.

*****Just an update, we have had a couple of questionable bids.  DO NOT try to be clever and get around the bidding rules.  DO NOT have your brother, uncle, 3rd cousin  bid for you.

If there are questionable bids we are going to disqualify any associated parties, no questions asked.

So if you have placed a bid that you think might raise a red flag, please contact B.A., myself or another mod proactively. The moral of the story is don't be a turd, you will have another chance to get this game.

Thanks

Please post in this thread for pledge/bid only.

Instead of posting a thread for people to reserve them, I'd like to give everyone a chance to get one by using the pledge system. The pledge system is designed for people to make a cash pledge towards getting one. Each member can only make 1 pledge, and it must be at minimum, but hopefully more, than the base cost of $50. This is my exact cost, taking absolutely $0 profit whatsoever.

Note: This is not the same as a Dutch auction. The difference is that in a Dutch auction, the price only goes up if there are more bids than items available. If you pledge $100, and your pledge is in the top 50 pledges, you pay $100, regardless of the other pledges. If you pledge $51 and there are 50 pledges of $52 or more, simply put, you wouldn't get one (at least not this way). Keep in mind this is a sort of "charity" event in that it's designed to raise money for the site. And just for the record, I will be taking $0 profit from the this.

All Payments will go directly to NintendoAge, Paypal preferred but not required. I will be personally shipping them out. S/h will be via priority mail: $5 US; $12 worldwide. Shipping is not included in the pledge. We will be taking pledges no later than November 5th, but will likely end it at an undisclosed date/time before then.

That said, if you'd like to get one, just make a pledge below. Pledges must be posted in this thread, PM pledges are not accepted. Be sure to make it count, as you only get 1 pledge. Edited posts will not be counted and be rendered void. Only pledge what you're comfortable with -- there will be other opportunities (listed above) to get one, so if you can't spare the cash, just wait for a contest or take your chance at fate!

Answers to questions:

What if there's a tie?
- In the event of a tie, it will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis. So don't wait until the end!

If I win by pledge, can I still win by one of the other opportunities?
-
No. I'd really like everyone to get a chance, and there simply aren't enough to go around unfortunately.

When will this end?
 - Sometime before November 5th 12 Noon NA Time.

Will the price be declared to customs?
- Since this is a charity, and the items were "donated" to NA to raise money, they will be declared at $10. No idea if that's legal, but it sure sounds good.

When is the money due if we pledge?
- Payment would be appreciated within 7 days of the end of the pledging, which will be no later than November 5th, so by November 12th. Runner-ups will then be notified that their pledge won.

If I'm not in the top 50, and I still required to pay?
- No, not at all.

If someone drops out and that puts me in the top 50, am I required to pay?
- No. We'll go down the list until someone wants to honor their pledge.

How are numbers determined?
- HIghest Pledge gets lowest available number, lowest pledge gets highest available number, etc.

How many copies were in total made?
- Only 67 copies were made CIB, 50 being auctioned off here and 17 for other uses.

How can I get a copy if I don't win a copy in this auction?
- Retrousb.com will be selling copies at a later time on their website.  I have not have an ETA for when they will be available there, sorry.  The copies on Retrousb.com will be cart only and they will not say NintendoAge Edition on the label.  The gameplay will be the same.

Can anyone bid?
- Any user registered as of Oct 22, 2012 can bid. Users registered after Oct 22, 2012 will not be allowed to bid, sorry.
