ok gamecube component cables cost more then 4 gamecube systems with controllers....does anyone have any info or know a page with the info on how the hell to do a component mod on a gamecube....its just a simple wire doing it so i dont think a mod would be that hard to do....

Edit: dang it I didn't see that was to VGA... but you could use a converter afterwards I'm sure.
I'll keep digging.

Umm, that thing you posted shows you need a GC component cable as one of the requirements...

I've never been able to find an aftermarket GC component video cable.

I could be wrong- but I thought there was a mod to make a gc component cable from an gc scart cable.

I've heard you can do it with a Gamecube MX B012355 chip and some soldering skills but it could just be worth your time to buy a $120 component cable or wait until one pops up (I waited and found one for $60).

And the definition is much better, btw

The simple answer is No.

The component cable itself actually has a special chip inside that processes the video signal, there is no easy way to replicate the functionality. More annoyingly, the NTSC gamecube does not output RGB so you can't do a SCART RGB->Component conversion (like with the SNES). Basically, if you want component output on your Gamecube you have to buy that expensive cable.

I think it's both VGA and component.
