The aluminum block is seriously the worst part of the original Analogue Nt between the unnecessary price bump and the loose cart slot (and whatever fears there were of scratching carts). I don't need a remake Super Nintendo, but I'm also happy Analogue is willing to make plastic products at a lower price. This looks like a good price for a product I imagine many people will want.

I'm glad they brought the price point down as well. Still, I think I'd have to wait for some reviews to come out before throwing that kind of money at it.

The reviews on the analogue were great and Kevtris knows what he's doing, so I jumped in on it. This is what I've been waiting for. Now I need to sell my European SNES Classic to help pay for it lol

It outputs 1080 via HDMI, and much cheaper than an RGB mod plus Framemeister. And there's something to be said for the simplicity of just plugging in an HDMI cable. I'd much prefer that over your proposed alternative.

Nothing other than the price. Good option for those who dont want to deal with RGB, but no thanks for me.

I can't stand analogue with their overpriced crap, but I guess people buy their stuff because they keep churning out more clone (fpga) consoles. At least is This is a decent price. PASS

Probably nothing but this is more convenient for someone who has not invested in RGB cables and an XRGB mini.  I am really impressed that they have created a SNES FPGA core.  The price is really great but I am not getting one as I know I would not use it as I prefer using my snes via RGB on my crt/pvm. 
 

I'm definitely getting one of these. Kevtris is a genius. The Hi-Def NES kit is the most brilliant thing I've seen.
  Native 1080p, no lag, digital signal out of the box. A Framemeister only converts an analog signal. The difference between the Analogue Nt/AVS and an rgb-modded NES run through a XRGB-Mini was pretty staggering. I imagine it will be even bigger with SNES.

Native digital output means there's no analog to digital conversion. You're saving theoretical image degradation and the nominal Framemeister input lag (~20ms). Framemeister isn't 100% perfect, it introduces noise in dark colors for example, but all digital output should be "perfect".

But it's mostly the price really. They can't release an aluminum block SNES for $500. Everyone would just go out and get a Framemeister or OSSC instead because real SNESs already have RGB output.

Wow, that price point is on! I'd have to bet that the AVS took so much thunder from the Analogue (rightfully so), that they were forced to make this a budget system. If I enjoyed SNES more, I'd jump on this, but I'll have to stick to my SNES classic and SNES powerpak...for now.

People that say the NT Mini is crap blow me away. You're getting more than just NES such as Gameboy, Master System etc. all in one console. It's in a nice case with a wireless controllers, analog and HDMI output. I understand people don't like the price but for what you're getting it's a steal if you use it to it's full potential. Try replicating it's video output one system at a time and you'll spend FAR more.

Yep. I'm glad I held out. I was briefly considering a framemeister but the only thing I'd use it on is a SNES (got a hi-def NES modded top-loader)

So happy they made this budget friendly instead of a high-end FPGA like the Analogue NT/NT mini

Wow, this is a happy day!! Guess I won't be purchasing the retro version when I can have this! Oh, and I fully expect this to sell out quickly. This is SO much better than the SNES Classic, I am a happy nostalgic right now!! Hmmm, time to order some SNES repros/hacks/homebrews me think...

Framemeister, obsolete, OSSC, basically obsolete, every single 16-bit rgb modded system with special scart cable...obsolete. Scart switcher...obsolete.

And almost the biggest one...EVERY SINGLE EVERDRIVE....OBSOLETE.  (ok not n64 but who gives a shit).

Selling my SD2SNES to pay for one, and probably about 2k of other stuff as well before the market tanks (NT mini included).

Explain to me how this makes rgb obsolete? if you have a PVM, usually original hardware is still the cheaper option.

Obviously you're going to smash your PVM and run out and buy an HDTV with HDMI, duh.

 

If you have a PVM, original hardware is still the only option.  Future is digital folks, like it or not.
