Plus. the gray side of Pokemon Stadium 2 is actually a speckled kind of color imitating silver.

Ah well I've seen all-gray Pokemon Stadium 2 carts on at least three separate occasions. Maybe they were fake or something.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump from the dead. I've been searching like crazy for a grey Aidyn Chronicles. Anybody have one in there collection? I'm starting to think it doesn't exist. I have all the color variants except for grey Hydro Thunder (I've seen a few of these) and Aidyn Chronicles (never seen).

Yeah, I have one. It's definitely rarer than the coloured cart but I've seen a few on eBay.

Yes it does:

At first I thought it was PAL, but it was definitely NTSC upon a closer look.

I've seen PAL versions Swordless Link (not sure if thats what you have) just not NTSC.

Thanks jonebone for the link, maybe I'll shoot him a PM and see if he still has it. When I was coming up with this list a few months ago I could have sworn I saw a grey Aidyn, but haven't had much luck in the last month that I've been actively looking. I also couldn't remember if I had for sure saw it or not.

If anyone here on the forums has a color variant thats not on the list just let me know and I'll add it.

Oh, yeah, I should've clarified - I collect NTSC, despite living in the UK. Here's a pic of my Aidyn cart:

The fact alone that it has an ESRB rating means it's NTSC. PAL doesn't have that.

What sucks is the price of the grey variants will probably never see a significant increase in value. With the fake repro labels people are so fond of here, coupled with the increasing popularity of back swapping cartidges, it will be very difficult to distinguish reals from fakes

Does anybody know of any colored Pal or Japanese cartridges? I think the PAL turok 2 was black and one of the zeldas had a gold cartridge. I don't know of any Japanese. Any idea?

What is the link between color of cartridge and memory expansion. Yellow carts all require the expansion correct? Was there a color used to indicate that the cartridges will be enhanced with the expansion but will play without it?

I think Donkey Kong and Majoras Mask are the two which required it.

I recently found out about rfgeneration.com and started using their collection manager and noticed that they do not list some color variants of some games and some they have color variants that don't appear on this list. So my question is specifically about rally challenge 2000 which is listed as a black cart only on here and is said to have a gray cart version on there. Which is it? Also are some of the gray versions of carts just the million seller re-release? Since rfgeneration listed certain games with the million seller designation and not the gray cart version I'm wondering if they are one in the same.

Well some games have one color in NTSC but actually have two colors when you consider international.  I think ECW is a good example, black cart in the states and gray in PAL.

Some of the gray carts are indeed the Million Seller release.  Turok 2 is an example of that, black first print and gray Million Seller.  I'm sure some of the cart only guys could provide more examples, but that's what I know offhand.

The site filters out international releases from the list so I don't think it is that, I have both color variants of turok 2 and the gray one does not say million seller on it like I though they did to those games so that is why I'm confused. I thought all million seller releases had that ribbon thng on them or am I wrong?

Yeah, I'm not sure how accurate there list is. I didn't see some of the grey versions on that website that I had listed here. I've never seen a grey US Rally Challenge. I'm not saying it can't exist, but I'm saying I haven't seen it. I have all the other grey versions listed so I'm 100% those exist.

I'm not sure Lucas, I will say there was a topic before mine that was kind of like this, asking about cart colors. Also a couple months after this post another member posted a topic very close to this... maybe it was one of those? Or maybe your losing your mind.

There is no box or manual for this, there was is a glitch on the black carts and acclaim offered to replace the cart as long as you covered shipping and gave in ur black cart for a gray one. as you guessed, only a few hundred were ever made cause not many ppl knew about such refund and glitch at the time. i know at least 240 exist, i have one and i will post pics when i get it, OP has one too and will confirm their existance. This is prob one of the rarest colour variants

Just the fact that no one even knew about it shows how rare it is
