Hello everyone and welcome to the first game of the 2017 Weekly Contests! After months of planning and waiting, it's time to get the 2017 games underway! 2016 produced some awesome scores, great rivalries, and tons of all-out fun! This year's games look to expand on that fun and make 2017 to be the best year yet in the Weekly Contests! Holy crap, excuse my rudeness and allow me to introduce myself. It's-a me, Bimmy-o! What, you don't recognize my name? Well, I'm none other than the famous cousin to those famous Italian plumbers from the NES, Mario and Luigi! Yeah, yeah, I can hear it now. None of us have ever seen you in a Mario game. Well, to tell you the truth, I have never appeared in a Mario game. But only because Mario said it would cost a fortune to get my likeness produced in one of his games. Besides, I have my own series of games on the NES. I appear in those famous beat 'em ups called Double...oh, shoot, I can't mention it here. Apparently it will cost my cousins royalties to mention my series of games. And I hear it's quite expensive to do so. Don't worry, you have heard of my game series before. And look, just because I have NEVER appeared in a Mario game doesn't mean I'm NOT related to them. Anyway, my cousins are in serious trouble and need your help...big time! It seems that ever scheming and nefarious Bowser has kidnapped Princess Toadstool yet AGAIN! You know, something seems really fishy about this. It seems like Princess Toadstool is ALWAYS getting kidnapped by Bowser. I mean, how do you let that happen to you three separate times? If you ask me, I think Princess Toadstool is cheating on Mario. No, seriously. Let's examine this for a minute. In Mario 1, she gets kidnapped and Toad oh so conveniently appears at the end of every single castle EXCEPT for World eight's fortress. Mario 2 was nothing but a dream (and a wet dream at that), and what happens in Mario 3? She gets “kidnapped” again. Same thing in Super Mario World on the SNES (wait, what the heck is an SNES? Sounds pretty advanced to me. Wait, what's that? No, I don't think it's one of those advanced Sega video game systems. Look, just because those Sega guys say “Sega does what NintenDon't” doesn't mean that their system is superior to what NINTENDOES! Those Sega guys have a thing or two to learn about video game systems! Anyway, a Super Nintendo supposedly is a 16-bit system. 16 bits you say? That's pretty damn impressive! Want more info on that? Just talk to Brock Landers, who is an SNES master!) Anyway, if you want my input, I think Princess Toadstool is CHEATING on Mario! Yeah, you heard it here first. Princess Toadstool is cheating on Mario with Bowser! You know, I told him years ago not to date her and that she would cheat on him one day. But you know what, Mario wouldn't listen. I told him that Princess Daisy had a HUGE crush on him and that she would be WAAAAYYYY better for him. But he told me that he preferred blondes and didn't care for brunettes. He tried to pass Daisy off on Luigi, but she said she didn't like him. She thought he was a little too “light in his loafers.” I didn't know what that meant so I asked my mom and she said it meant he was gay. Do you think my cousin Luigi is really GAY? I mean, I guess it doesn't matter to me if he is gay. I still love him all the same and all and...wait, what? No, I don't love him in that way! I'm not gay or anything! I have a girlfriend! Her name is Marian and she is the hot girl with the tramp stamp dragon tattoo who was the lead cheerleader at Neo City High School. Don't remember? Just check last year's contest threads. Anyway, my cousins need your help something bad. What, don't look at me! I'm in another game series on the NES and it would cost tons of money for me to appear in their games. I told you all that once already, remember? Rescuing Princess Toadstool myself would mean Mario Bros Plumbing would end up going bankrupt! Look, I don't care how many toilets they have unclogged from Bo Abobo bowel movements, I absolutely CANNOT save her myself! My cameo appearances are expensive and only the Battletoads are able to afford it. Anyway, Princess Toadstool has been “kidnapped” by Bowser and you need to help rescue her from the clutches of the evil King Koopa himself! The contest ends Sunday, 2/19/17 at 11 PM NA time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers. Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator. Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests. The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed. Good luck everyone and have fun
