This game is greek to me too, but fortunately I figured out how to make some touchdowns.

It's not too difficult. You can do it.

I improved my score by 1, but the battery pack I had it hooked up to died. Oh well, 1 point is not that big of a difference anyways and I am sure I can put up more points.

Tecmo Bowl games are funny though. I only used to play Tecmo Bowl, but some of the players sprint 2x regular players speed on kick off returns. Amazing...

Okay, I can't seem to crack 70 in this. I think 84 is the most anyone should be able to get, unless they get really lucky on turnovers. But even then 21 per quarter is unattainable, at least to me.

I believe turnovers are pure luck. I am impressed people can crack 60+ as it basically has to be every pass/run for a TD. Stopping them is very random as well when they have possession.

to break 60 you need to get a lot of safetys and fumbles and I'm having a hard time trying to get back to more than 70.

I am probably playing my defense wrong, but how do you continously get safeties without:  "Nose dive tackling is not allowed.  Anyone suspected of using it will have their score disqualified"

I play as a safety and let the linemen do their thing which works out once or twice per drive, but then all of a sudden my defense gives up a long play for a first down.

I choose one olb and try to navigate around their offense and try to tackle the qb but most of the time as soon as I get there they throw the ball and get a incomplete.

So a lot of the time I don't get a safety so you need to be lucky.

My 70 point game I was kicking off long and when the opposing team is backed up I use a run defense and select my top safety to also run at the qb. Unfortunately yhis only works maybe twice a game. So my new strategy is I'm kicking off onsides ( due to the clock running down less) and hoping for a recovery, I believe at some point everything will go right in a game and I'll get a couple recoveries and turnovers. That should get me the 84 I want.
also, if anyone is gonna get 99+ without the nose tackle glitch , they are gonna have to use 49ers vs Colts. Again, I could be wrong about all this 😝

my 83 point game i had 6 interceptions which was just about every pass they threw but the trade off is you have to let them throw which means giving up the chance to get a safety, i'd imagine someone will get 90+

I may try the offside kicking. I have yet to get a recovery though.

i think it was 11 touchdowns and i kicked field goals at the end of each half that's why i think 90 is a sure thing for someone because had i risked going for touchdowns instead of taking the sure thing with the fgs i potentially could have had 8 more points

In my one game I generally did a pass coverage and dropped the DE back into coverage too. If it was a run I could then try to tag him in the open field. It is a strategy that has worked in many, many football games for me. Seemed to do well enough in my one attempt too

I honestly think I could put up 100 on the Browns with the Bengals if I get enough chances. I believe David Fulcher is the highest rated safety in the game and really racks up the interceptions. One of the Bengals pass plays is almost a guaranteed touchdown. I'll have to try some more tomorrow.

I became a wrestling fan in the late 80s and early 90s, around the time of Wrestlemania 6. At some point in the 00's I started to lose interest. Wrestling gradually became less interesting after the Monday night wars ended.
