^^^Regardless of the outcome, you gotta admit that was a clever move by Pierzynski.

I think going wire to wire and almost sweeping the post season speaks for itself. There were plenty of calls that season that didn't go our way.

I hope this is a joke... Griffey Jr is not even one of the top 25 players of all time.  Everyone thought he would be one of the greatest in the mid-90s but injury problems have slowed him since. Even in his prime he wasn't looked upon as the greatest of all time though. I'd rather have his japanese teammate from the the start of his career to the end as opposed to "Jr." from the his rookie year to retirement. Just my opinion though!

Babe Ruth will always be the best ever. Ted Williams, Willie Mays are right in there for 2 / 3 IMO. But I do think Griffey is definetly in the top 25. He was a stud. Wish he woulda stayed in Seattle for his whole career, maybe he wouldn't have been injured so much, who knows?

Well, I got my tickets booked, should be a good game! I've been following the M's to get a full understanding of the game and get to know the players, I'm hoping to catch a game of theirs on TV before I leave

One question, why did they lose so badly in the recent series against Cleveland?

Tired over used pitching, and weak offense... It's a shame that a wonderfull season really comes to an end after one really bad series.

Gameboyricky - griffey may not be a top 25 player according to critics and analysts but to me he is #1 baby!!

Whoever says Griffey Jr is not a top 25 player doesen't watch much baseball. When his career is over he'll most likely have over 650 home runs and 3,000 hits. No question 1st ballot HOFer.

Way too late to chime in but I wouldn't miss that game for anything. I am an M's fan and would love to go. Not to mention Griffey is back. Granted he is old as balls and would probably go 0-4 and be a snot to the fans but I am still a huge griffey fan. Cared about the White Sox last year when they had him but could care less...although props to Buehrle for the perfect game. Griffey is the absolute shiznit. BTW, Safeco is really nice...didn't get to go to a game there but caught Wrestlemania 19 there.

1st ballot HOFer yes but he is NOT one of the top 25 players of all-time (in my opinion). Just because I don't think is he one of the top 25 doesn't mean I don't watch baseball. A matter of fact... there are probably only a few people that know more baseball than I do! Before I collected video games, I collected baseball cards. I watched and played baseball since i've had conscious cognition. My dad played major league baseball for 13 years and we use to study hitting stats together of opposing players.  While in middle school, I would take the official major league rule book to school with me and read it for fun.  I played baseball from tee ball through college. I coach high school baseball now and still follow major league baseball daily.

Here is my list of the top 25 baseball players: (First half with stats)

#1 Babe Ruth -  As a hitter: .342 career BA, 714 HR, 1.164 OPS
                             As a pitcher: 94 career Wins, 2.28 ERA, 2-time 20 game winner

 #2 Ty Cobb -  .367 career BA, 4149 H, 892 SB, 3-time .400 hitter

 #3 Ted Williams - ..344 career BA, 521 HR, .482 OBP, 2-time MVP, 17-time all-star

 #4 Walter Johnson - 417 career Wins, 110 SHO, 2.17 ERA, 3509 K, 12-time 20+ game winner, 2-time MVP

 #5 Willie Mays - 660 career HR, 338 SB, 2-time 30-30, 2-time 11-time GG, 2-time MVP, 20-time all-star

 #6 Honus Wagner - .327 career BA, 722 SB, 3415 H, 8-time BA leader, 5-time RBI and SB leader

 #7 Hank Aaron - 755 career HR, 2297 RBI, 3771 H, 21-time All-star, 1-time 30-30

 #8 Christy Mathewson - 373 career Wins, 2.13 ERA, 2502 K, 13-time 20+ game winner

 #9 Rogers Hornsby - .358 career BA, 301 HR, 2930 H, 3-time .400 hitter, 2-time MVP

#10 Barry Bonds* - 762 career HR, 514 SB, 2558 BB, 2935 H, 7-time MVP, 14-time All-star, 8-time GG, 4-time 30-30, 1-time 40-40

#11 Lou Gehrig - .340 career BA, 2721 H, 2-time MVP, 7-time all-star**

#12 Cy Young - 511 career Wins, 2.63 ERA, 2803 K, 10-time 20 game winner, 5-time 30 game winner

#13 Tris Speaker - .345 career BA, 792 2B, 3514 H, 432 SB

#14 Mickey Mantle

#15 Jimmie Foxx

#16 Stan Musial

#17 Pete Alexander

#18 Nap Lajoie

#19 Joe DiMaggio

#20 Roger Clemens*

#21 Eddie Collins

#22 Nolan Ryan

#23 Greg Maddux

#24 Eddie Plank

#25 Pete Rose

* May have used drugs to enhance playing performance

**First All-star game was not until 1933

Once again... this is my own opinion... if you believe Griffey Jr. is on there then feel free to share your top 25 list!

Oooooooooo Boy! That was quite an exciting finish to yesterday's game. I checked the starting pitchers for today's game, it's quite a match up. Hernandez, a young up and coming pitcher who is maybe like 21 years old, vs. Mark Buerele, a veteran who threw a perfect game and set a major league record for most consecutive retired batters. If you see today's game, don't expect anyone to score too many runs......

The game I'm heading along to is in September (15th to be precise).

For sure, I was keeping an eye on todays game. I'm hoping the game in September is equally exciting - but with a home team win, maybe a few more runs

Yep my sister and brother in law were at that game last night right on 3rd base line. Raining foul balls zone. I just knew watching that game that if we didn't get more than 1 run we were dead meat... sure enough...

Maybe one of the top 10 games I've watched! THere was a Myriad of kick ass defensive plays to save that game! And you can't beat a KGJ walk off! Almost made up for the heartbreaker the night before...

I just purchased tickets for a 3 game set agains the Royals at the end of the month.  Not to excited about the Royals but am pumped to finally get back to Safeco!

Did you go to the game? How was it? I am happy because the Sox won. And goddamn, you gotta love AJ. He is da man!

Anyway, the sox have been a big disappointment this season. They gave up Thome who I loved. They got really close to first then totally blew it. The ONLY way they could win the division this season is if they win the remaining six games they have against the Tigers, and the 3 games against the Twins this season. It ain't likely and I'm not counting on it, but that is what it would take.
