Why should it be easy?
Besides, even if the did it, there are loads of DS games that would be virtually unplayable when using the Wii remote as a stylus while simultaneously using the d-pad and buttons.
I don't know, i think most games would work with the wiimote in place of the stylus. Plus, the nunchuck should give the player access to as many buttons as they would have with their left hand while using the stylus in the right. If it requires use of the right buttons, the player would have to set the stylus down or something anyway, where they could simply tilt the wiimote to the side to use those buttons on the wiimote. I think the Wii is the perfect system for a DS adapter, short of maybe a tablet PC.
I also disagree that there would be zero incentive for them to make one. They made a Super Game Boy for the SNES, and while they skipped the N64, they revisted the concept on the Gamecube. So why would it make no sense to do the same for the Wii? Most of the reason to buy a portable console is to play games outisde of the house. A console adapter of sorts wouldn't replace that. The only people that would buy the adapter and not a DS are those that wouldn't buy a DS in the first place because they don't have a need for portable gaming.
Personally, I think it's a neat idea. I'd be curious to see how well it would work with the DS catalogue.
I think you've completely overlooked the excellent points Jonas made about unique control combinations on the DS.
This is not the very simple issue of the Game Boy adapters, where they're simply providing a button-driven experience adapted from a small screen to a large screen.
You're talking about adapting something that is on TWO screens, to a single screen...on top of that, the ergonomics would be completely different using the controls of the
Wii, likely to the point of being non-functional.
Regardless, while it might be "neat" to see, it makes absolutely no financial sense, and that is why it will never happen.
