Improved my score a tiny bit on page 1.
Don't think I will be able to hit 3 millions this week. Oh well. And my studies didn't prove fruitful today. I will have to hit the source code tomorrow to see if I can figure something out of it.
But yay, my everdrive is getting here Monday. I can't wait to play Contra on the old Phantom, with the genesis like pads! <3

I think that the RNG is rigged against getting the 1.6 million combo.

I've been trying for hours and not once have I gotten a favorable colors to finish the combo. Eg. I'll have red tiles sandwiched between yellow tiles and then I'll get a bunch more red tiles. I'll have pink tiles sandwiched between yellow tiles then I'll get a bunch of blue and red tiles. Whatever I don't need, I'll get. And this happens every single time. I'd think that even by sheer luck I'd be getting good colors sometimes, but no. They're always wrong.

Strange. I get a favourable combination every 20 resets or so.
But then it all goes to hell on wave 2 and on, so I go for less bountiful combos on those, trying at most to get an X.

For some reason I can't get favorable combinations to happen at all. If I need red, I'll get yellow. If I need yellow, I'll get a bunch of blue. It's maddening. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Are you completing some klax? You can complete up to 2 vertical klax when that happens to clear the pieces and force the pattern to move.

Fun stuff.

But alas, time to crack open a beer and start noting and crunching Klax data.

The interview thread went on for 7 pages so Brock probably had to do some editing to fit it in a single post and I'm sure some of it was for content, since I'm not one to hold back just based on the stuff that actually made it in.

Yes. This helps, but not when a a lot of the wrong tile keeps coming. And once the middle tiles are set, there's nowhere to clear tiles the same color as the middle tiles.

Not long after starting the combo, you're basically committed to it, and there's not much that can be done when the colors are wrong. It's often impossible because of bad RNG.

Is there any consistent method to picking the right colors?

Hopefully I can actually get a chance to post a score this weekend. For anyone that managed to read that entire interview, I've been really busy, but hopefully I can get a few attempts in. Great scores so far everybody!

I think that I know some things about the RNG after trying for hours yesterday

Sometimes the game will give a lot of a certain color earlier in the stage, but then will avoid giving that same color later on. I notice that after making my vertical columns all of the same color that it won't repeat that color anymore. Or I'll get a couple mixed in with a buch of other tiles that I can't use. This makes it almost impossible for me to finish a high scoring combo. I mean, I tried for hours. I don't know how you and arn did it.

I'm skeptical that there's a pattern to it. It seems pretty darn random to me, but digging into the code will tell the real story.

I've had maybe three setups where I could have gotten the super combo and I was only successful once. Even if you get all the blocks you need, you still have to play it just right.

I'm no code breaker so I can't say for sure, but I think my second place score from last time was basically due to luck as much as anything.

I notice that the game never gives me enough of the same color tile at the necessary juncture to have them on my paddle to complete the combo. If I'm lucky it might give me just enough of a color to fill in the three columns and that's about it.

Earlier today I was hopeful that I'd be able to do it. I was getting a bunch of yellow tiles and I had light blue tiles sandwiched between them. I was able to make all three columns. I hoped for more yellow tiles to put on my paddle. Instead I kept getting light blue tiles along with a couple yellow tiles. With no way to deal with the blue tiles I was screwed. Something like this always happens so that I can't complete the combo.

Your 800k got you second place last time. I have over a million points and that might be good enough for fifth or sixth place this week.

Once I am done destroying red fabric while trying to figure out how this sewing thing works, I will do a few more runs and post video of the big combo.
I usually manage to get it after 20 or so resets.

Absolutely. It takes serious planning to pull it off even with the proper blocks spawning.
I am enjoying this game quite a bit.

I just want to know how it's possible to have the necessary tiles on your paddle at the end of the combo to pull it off. I always get a mess of the wrong color tile at that point with nothing that I can do.

Throw them back to the field, but space the timing for each return so you can catch and throw them back again as long as it is needed.
Remember, once you do the first klax line, they stop for several seconds, so it won't be a problem if you have a lot of them on the field as long you have 1 of the middle colour on the top of your paddle and 3 of the main colour (4 is nigh impossible).
Take a dropped Klax or two if needed. You can play conservatively on the next 4 waves and try for the 600K warp to pad more your score. After you warp, the drops are reset.

If I ever moved to Colorado, I'm sure I'd fit right in! I even went to Kroger yesterday to try and find that cauliflower crust pizza, but they didn't have it. There's about three Kroger near me, so I'll attempt to try it since I imagine that's part of the Colorado Crew initiation process.

I'd like to try and crack a million if I get a chance to play this weekend. With everything going on, I'm literally running non stop and haven't even had a chance to get a game in. Hopefully tomorrow if I'm lucky.

Unfortunately by that point there are so many tiles approaching so quickly that I can't juggle them very long.

This is now an obsession. I want to make at least one big combo so bad.
