Nice!  Getting there man.  On that Abobo part, easy, move up to the wall, they'll follow you.  Go back to the left, quickly go right below them and jump towards them.  They'll duck.  Cut their asses.  You'll never get hit.  Whenever those dudes are approaching you directly, jump over them so you land behind, turn, cut them in the face.

Just started playing today - guess I should have started earlier this week because I picked it up fairly fast. However, I never got past the train though came close. Maybe I can get some time in tomorrow and beat this.

EDIT: Better score below (old score 61,420)

I am searching for the following SNES manuals:
- Sunset Riders    - TMNT IV: Turtles in Time      - Total Carnage
- Utopia                 - Final Fantasy II
Please PM me if you have one or all of them for sale. While I like nice condition, I am interested in anything 7/10ish up.

Never played this one for points before.  It's way easier to just use flying knees on everyone.

If my math is correct, it's possible to get over 160,000 without "chipping" at people.  You just need to land enough cyclone kicks before your health runs out.  Easier said than done.

Bimmy, you should totally go for the TG record!  I think you would easily get it if you didn't have to stop playing when you reach your last man.  That life could be used to get the points you need, I'll wager.

Not sure if this will count but what happened was that Arnie kicked my ass while I was jumpkicking him, so even though he killed my last guy, the game put me on the next stage :/
At least I got a (slightly) better score by mastering the special moves. That game's much easier with them. The 10 score was supposed to be a joke anyway... Oh, and I can't resist anymore! Just go watch this:

EDIT: Never mind about Arnie. This time did it nice until the gear level, where I lost my last man
At least I made a small update to my score XD

FINAL SCORE:76220

I had a decent run on Friday but I blew it big time at the disappearing platforms.

I am totally kicking myself for not starting this game sooner. It ended up being one of the more enjoyable contest games I've played, especially gaming side by side in chat with Andy and getting tips from him. Looks like I can get 10th place here if I don't get sniped in the next hour.

Yeah, the platforming in this game is rough. I ran out of patience and didn't get a chance to play again. I did have a lot of fun with this game though.

You are correct on being able to score over 160,000 points, Tom.  I added it up in my head one day and as long as you use nothing but the spin kick (aside from parts of mission 4 where you can't jump because of the spike ceiling), you can score over 160,000.  The toughest part about getting to a score that high is dealing with all the different Abobos (the disappearing one, the shirtless one, and the Arnie-looking one).  They duck the spin kick a lot, but with enough patience, it's possible to hit them.

I definitely want to go for the TG record.  I can no-death the game, or at the very least, beat it with a couple lives remaining, so I won't have any trouble there.

For those who got to the Shadow Master and had a hard time dealing with him, I will give you a little tip to help make the fight a lot easier.  If you don't face him while you're fighting him (in other words, keep your back to him), he will not do his flying spin punch that takes away like 1/3 of your health.  However, you have to use nothing but the spin kick (or regular kick if you're feeling gutsy) to attack him.  The only time you have to be careful is when he disappears in the first half of the fight since you can't see him to see which way he is facing.  I urge everyone to give this a try the next time you decide to play Double Dragon 2.

Also, the leaderboard is all up to date.
