Im glad i grew up in a time where people like Jobs, Wozniak, and Gates ruled the computer industry. I too grew up using macs and apple computers in school. Even thought i havnt touched an apple product in years, he was still a great man.

Redivivus - Apple stock shot up like, 10 fold after the announcement of his death! Strange indeed.

The guy had pancreatic cancer for longer than probably anybody else, ever... it's amazing he made it this long.

If Magic Johnson died tomorrow, I'd still be shocked... and he's lived with AIDS for as long as I can remember.

Majic has HIV Jonezy.   If his immune system is compromised to the point of conking  out , then he will develops AIDS. The type of  Pancreatic Cancer Steve had was not the swift killer. However , it was situated in his endocrine system in  a way where the normal person would be dead within months.

I think a part of me died with Mr. Jobs

Steve, you will be missed. I now feel bad for all the jokes I made at your expense. Rest in peace.

If anyone is LOOKING for certain repro/homebrews, I have a running repro company thread going as well as a lot of extras myself which include Limited Editions as well.  I'm also free to help answer questions and point people in the right direction so never hesitate to ask!  Here is the current list of repro companies.  Please let me know if I need to update it:

So sad to see him go at such a young age. I am thankful for all of the great technology he made possible today.

Apple homepage almost brought a tear to my eye.

RIP

I wonder how much the stock will tank tomorrow as a result?

Is it bad that this was the very first thing to come to my mind as well?  AAPL pulls enough weight that a down day for APPL would be a down day for the entire market most likely.

RIP.  I certainly didn't see this one coming.

Surely everyone at Apple knew this was coming eventually - a man of his work ethic doesn't just step down unless things are really, really, really bad.  Always sad to hear of news like this

Thing is - the institutional buyers knew this was coming too.

Guess we'll see!

Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates. Good flick. Adios Steve-O. Dude was brilliant.

Sad

Pretty sure I saw that movie too, or at least something on Bill Gates/Steve Jobs in my junior or senior year of high school.

Even though I have both an iPhone and a 160GB iPod, I personally have no interest in Apple products or the company itself, as I find them terribly overpriced as a general rule of thumb (Hypocritical and ironic I know). Regardless of that, no one should have to put up with cancer for so long and die early, so RIP Steve.

Like others said above, I'm a PC guy, and don't really have any Apple products...

Regardless, RIP to a true pioneer of technology. You will be missed Steve.

I've been working at a Apple Service location for the last 9 years, I've always looked up to him, I missed him at Apples last keynote conference, and now looks like I'm gonna miss him even more now. R.I.P. Mr. Jobs. Your visions brought greatness into this world
