I would press forwards quickly to strike an enemy and my character would go way too far forward after I left go of the button and I would die. I have to try a few other controllers to see what's going on.

I had this same problem with the NES games. The input lag is unacceptable in my opinion.

I noticed it on Super Mario World.  It isn't terrible, but it definitely doesn't play as smooth as the SMW does on a crt.

I played for an hour this morning with the 8BitDo controller and it didn't happen at all, the inputs were much better. I'm not sure if it was only the Pro controller or some glitches happening at that time.

Wait a minute, those 20 games are free if you have an online subscription?? I thought they were just 20 SNES games coming to the switch eShop that you'd have to pay for
Yes they are free (well not free but included in your annual online fee of $20) and from what I understand this is just the beginning.  More will be released every month just like with the NES games.

This may be changing as Nintendo Japan announced that new NES/SNES titles will now appear "irregularly" rather than every month not sure if this is across the board for all regions or what.

Ah I see, so temporarily available like a lot of shows and movies on Netflix. Better play them while they're up.

I think it was more so they will always be up, but adding in newer ones will come at random times intead of them popping off monthy... or I should say I hope that is what they ment. *shudder*
