lol. That is pretty much everybody's opinion of this purchase. A crazy dude who looks like he's 15 should not have so much cash to spend on a god damn video game. yup that pretty much sums up this thread

Don't you have to be a certain height to ride a motorcycle anyway?

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Dude. You could've bought a Les Paul, a Marshall stack, a year's worth of guitar lessons, and some studio time, AND still had plenty of money left over for coke and hookers to hold you over until you're big enough to get groupies. FAIL.

Seriously, though, congrats. I'm insanely jealous.

15.000$. Insane. But... Either he don't know anything about NES or he's just making fun of the memories;

I remember joking in the past that I was going to buy an NWC gold, cut it into about 20 equal pieces and then mount each piece in the hands of a gold-spraypainted ROB under glass as a nice "piece of history." But from the $ they're getting now I'd need to sell them at $1k a pop just to make my investment back!

Well in any case, it will most likely be a long time before another is sold. I predict the next to be in the 15-20k range.

In a private sale yes but if one randomly pops up on ebay without a payment plan it should go lower. How many buyers have 15-20k sitting there just waiting for the next one to appear?

I don't think condition is so much an issue with one of these. Would any potential buyer really be in a position to be choosy? It's not there are several to choose from

And in case people think 'This is insanely out of control pricing', take a look at the rest of the investment markets. This increase from $4,000 to $12,000 is 3 times from 2002 to 2008.

Looking at the price of gold in 2002 it was $300 an ounce. Earlier this year it was over $1000 an ounce, an increase of 3.333 times. So looks like the price of these games is quite consistent with the rest of the economy.

well its done better than the 'rest of the economy.' so has gold. as you say not out of control compared to some other stuff but its still done pretty darn well and better than most things one could have put money into back in 02.

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!
